you DID ask to danny for that.
right?
I believe he said before that he headdesked whenever I said "Devine". In that case, I made this for boredom and I did not forget about placing "headdesked" when you talk to 8bitmushroom in the castle. I didn't ask to him right now.

Excellent job on these tilesets! They look like the real Yoshi's Island tilesets.

Spring Guy and Sawbot are really cool ideas for enemies. (I made up their names). Nice work. I can use them in World 7 of my project (since it's factory themed)

That shy guy is missing some shading don't you think?

This has always been my favourite topic. You get to see so many level designs over and over again.

Super Mario World-esque enemies aren't intended to include shading.

SMW enemies do not have shading at all. They look 8bit in some occasions that sometimes involve palette swaps.

Both of you are wrong.
SMW enemies do have shading, but it's less developed than the non-comic-style shading found in the other mario games. In case of enemies like the Ninji, this no-shading-style is present, but most of the enemies have one standard and dark colour, sometimes even a light colour on top of that.
Now, your shy-guy uses the light and standard colour while it should use all 3 or the 2 darker ones. Yours looks too bright and doesn't fit in the invironment. Besides, I'm not sure if I'm right, but I don't think the greys on the mask and shoes are on the palette.
And yes, sometimes they do swap the palette to include more shading, but what's wrong about doing that. It serves it's purpose.

He simply seems out of place to me, imo.

The first image is my first Chinese tileset, I did it in 2012.

The second image is the Chinese tileset based on Hand-on-Hall, still have to add a few more things.

AirShip, those tilesets are outstanding! The pallettes are perfectly fitting and I cannot fault anything with the graphical design. I would use those if they were released! :)

This graphic is excellent ...
Very original and creative, besides being very well designed. I am anxious to see a level with this graphics ^^

It still looks pretty bad. It should be redrawn.

AirShip, those Chinese tilesets look great.

FNC, the SMW-styled shy guy doesn't look good. It's way too big (should be 16x16) and the outlines look weird.

That was made by A.J. Nitro. I think he didn't use shading at all.

A chinese tileset, AirShip? That looks great! No flaws! What's next? A Tokyo tileset with the nintendo building?
