Turn off smartscreen, I did that when I first installed it.
2. I agree, although you can just Super+S to pull up the search on the side it takes alot longer
3. I don't play GM games so I wouldn't know.

I tried everything, but Windows 8's built-in security called it a virus (I downloaded it from the official website), refused to download it, wouldn't even allow it to finish installing, etc. The metro-app Skype is too annoying to switch to, so my first main problem.
My second problem is that searches require about 300% as much effort as on Windows 7.
Problem 3: Incompatible with about 90% of the Game Maker Games I play.
1. What Luigifan2010 said.
2. Open the charms bar by moving the cursor to the corners on the right. You can easily search apps/files from there.
3. Have you tried changing compatibility from the properties?

People give Windows 8 such a bad rep it's not even funny. I would agree the OS has its share of flaws but so does every other operating system. Sure, back when I first updated, things were hard to navigate and understand (at least for me), but that's always normal when you upgrade or try something new. Besides, 8.1 brought back the Start Button and a while back I read an article (not sure if it's legitimate or not) that stated the classic Start Menu might make a return in a future update - a possible sign of things to come that may end in Windows 8 bringing back classic features from past Windows operating systems.

That's pretty good actually. In Windows 8, the Start Button isn't visible for some reason which bothered me the first time I saw the new operation system but later I can deal with the changes they did and it was actually funny how I can do things like that. Sadly, after 2 Months of use it will crash more often, not sure why though. Maybe it is just too much to handle or something I really do not know about. Later after my Windows 8 was repairing we got Windows 7 instead and everything was fine and after we got back Windows 8, my dad gets it now and I have Windows 7. A very powerful one if I can add that.

Strange, I've never had any crashing or freezing problems with my 8.1. Maybe you were using too RAM? Perhaps your computer had too little RAM? Whatever the case may be, Windows 7 is still a great operating system so you still made a good choice.

It could be. If I run YouTube Videos and SMBX or Mario Builder at the same time it has a highly chance that it will crash for no reason. Sometimes it even crashes while nearly nothing is running (or maybe Anti Virus Program runs in the background) which is also Strange.
