Uploaded one final sneak peek a bit ago, showing off a town level! Each chapter is going to have something like this, with this chapter it being Yoshi's Village. There won't be any more sneak peeks after this for a while because next up is the demo release! So look forward to that.

Hi, Starshi! I’ve been following you from the sidelines for a couple years now. I’d like to give my feedback and say that the demo is highly playable and enjoyable, as well as one of the best experiences I’ve had.

The pixel art and music is top-notch. You’ve also created a unique art style with some unique gameplay mechanics. I could say that this could be made by Nintendo, in fact.

The story is interesting, but there are some awkward verbiages and grammatical mistakes here and there. Some punctuation is also needed. I’d recommend you run the script through an AI-powered writing companion and see what it can do. It’s available at this website: https://www.deepl.com/write-mobile (my recommendation is to keep it American English). I could also help you.

Here’s a list of some of my additional findings:

* Piranha Plant fireballs are randomly suspended in air in “Crash Landing”
* An animation frame randonly appears behind Mario during the boss fight in “Crash Landing”
* A softlock towards the end of “Coral Coastline”
* Mario’s scuba gear appears randomly while in levels other than “Jelectro Lake”
* Cut-off on the conveyor belt(s) in “Thwomp Cove”
* Missing shadows for Buzzy Beetles shot out of the cannons in “Sunset Shipyard”
* Captain Blotch attacks you while paused in “Sunset Shipyard”
* The inability to quickly scroll through text
* The inability to use a controller to scroll through dialog and the start menu
* Text sometimes encroaches on the text box border (found in intro and possibly elsewhere)
* The low health warning is somewhat annoying
* The inability to pause while aiming Starry
* The inability to pause during boss fights

English is not my native language, so I'm aware of there being some grammar mistakes. Will try and see if anything can be changed.

This is actually possible, by using "x" and shift.
Pausing is sometimes disabled due to the limited nature of being unable to actually freeze time in 38a.
Other bugs have been reported elsewhere and I will be dropping a patch some time in the future to fix some of these!

Finally! Congrats Starshi, wait was worth it. This is an enjoyable experience for sure to those anyone looking for something with a pretty fun plot, interesting characters, and very fun levels! I kind of sounding like some random brand dude here, but I really like this episode because of the passion put into it as the time for the wait goes to show what we finally have here. Looking forward to the final release, cheers!

I'm wondering what power-ups are in game. I saw the Super Bell in action and so I assume the Super mushroom is in as well.

Select a level and scroll all the way to the bottom. There should be a "Change badge" button or something similar to that.

Hi, just went through the new update. Would really appreciate a "skip straight to 1-1" button

More stuff

Groundpounding on slopes doesn't set Mario into his sliding state. so if you ground pound a slope with the intent of slide killing a nearby goomba you'll instead perish

1-1 boss:
Spoiler: show
the scene of the star hitting the balloon is quite hard to actually see happen - perhaps the camera could pan to the balloon right before it gets hit and go right back to Mario after he's done getting out

i'd love to have a checkpoint after the star hits the goomba out of his balloon. i know it's meant to be easy but if you die to the boss it's a slog getting back :(

I don't think this is a prequel to BIS. Plus this might be a Dark Star, who transforms into its own thing and the BIS Dark Star is another one of them that got sealed in the past by the Star Sprites in BIS canon, maybe.
