I have never been able to get imgur links to work.

The link works, but embedding does not. I do not know if it is due to the forum update or not either. (My avatar has also gone missing for me for example.)

Kind of the goal. Trying to make a little something where Peach Shell Jumps are mandatory to teach myself better timing on them.

You need the link that ends in .gif. If it gives you one that ends in gifv or mp4, you can just replace it with gif and it will work. If there is no ending, you need to right-click and copy link address to visit the image directly. There is always a link with file extension hidden behind an imgur album, so it's always possible to embed an image uploaded to imgur.

Furthermore, falsely embedded image links can still be viewed by holding the mouse cursor on the word "Image" and then dragging that word into a new tab. It's still a link. Here's an example:
