SMBX Episode Discussion Thread (Mario's Nightmare Boss Rush)

Tower of Biased 2 is now up for discussion. I personally have never played it but watched some videos of it and remembered this level that was essentially npc/block spam with stars.

Wrong, that was a real level that was quite crashy. I have beaten it, but it is quite a long level. Quite difficult as well. It is a pain to find as well.

I don't think Sanctuary Fortress 1 existed then and if it did it would have been for that contest probably

The first one was from Metroid Prime 2. The real one I based that level off of. I take some offense to that. (That terrible level was in CC11 which made ToBX.) Skycrafter Stormy is the level in question. Had 2 stars. After it was found to be as crashy as it was, it was replaced with a joke with 21 stars and instawarps in it in the episode download instead. I can upload the level on the forums, but it does not belong to me and it feels wrong to put it in my own level thread when it does not belong to me.

Why when i enter in the "Skycrafter Stormy" level it sends me to a black place with 21 stars, it makes me skip almost all the other tiers after Tier 3.

I quite liked Super RMN World's usage of an art gallery aesthetic. (it reminds me of the paintings in SM64.) To me, this episode feels like a community episode done right. The tutorial for people new to SMBX is also a nice touch.

Why when i enter in the "Skycrafter Stormy" level it sends me to a black place with 21 stars, it makes me skip almost all the other tiers after Tier 3.

It is becuase that level is super buggy in 1.3 from what I heard. I can send it to you (the REAL "Skycrafter Stormy") if you desire.

The Great Empire was a good episode for its time, but nowadays, I consider it to be a slightly above average episode. Although there aren't a lot of things that stand out, the episode doesn't have any serious problems either.
One thing I find interesting about the episode is the crack in the house in The Village. According to Knux, this was left over from a cancelled story arc that would involve the crack growing and eventually revealing an alternate dimension. Makes me wish someone would use that idea in an episode...
There are quite a few things about this episode that remind me of The Invasion 2, such as the Stargate and its resemblance to the Star Palace in TI2.

I haven't played the original "The Great Empire" Trilogy, but i would say the unofficial sequels aren't as good as the originals imo
