Nice to hear. I'm planning on finishing a significant amount over the Christmas holidays. I'm also trying to decide whether or not to stall for a while and await Beta 4 since I want to use some features that'll be incompatible with Beta 3, although I may just choose to find workarounds with Beta 3 features for now. Also struggled with ideas for a bit but hope to get this moving soon after I find some more inspiration

Booted up the demo in LunaLua and I got this error:
Spoiler: show
Image
And Boom Boom isn't doing any of the special moves he is supposed to. A bit disappointed...

Here's something new...

Image

Also my Christmas holidays are coming up so expect a relatively large new demo coming by early January.

I've remastered a bunch of levels, removed some, etc.

That looks so brilliant. Very interesting...

EDIT: Are those meteorites? If so, that would be a very cool bossfight.

They are. It's inspired by 8-8 from NSMBDS

Update to what I posted yesterday after some graphical tweaks and others. This level is now done:

Image

Just as a progress report: I'm pretty much happy now with the first 8/16 levels of the main game. Before I release the next demo I just have a few things to tweak in terms of the HUD and data storage stuff, and also want to rework a few smaller things. I've made some significant graphical and design changes to the first few levels (some scrapped and redone completely, or reworked as a later level) and am almost done all of the hubs now too. Next demo should include 10+ levels and a sneak peek at some of the upcoming features that will be introduced after the first full release. This should be coming in the next few days and will probably be the last demo before I release the full version!

Thanks for all of the support this project has received. Not just here, but all of the feedback on Discord as well is greatly appreciated

I hope it plays that way too! A lot of tweaking of this level was gameplay-specific elements and it focuses a lot on flow, developing the gimmick, and providing progressive, varied, and reasonable challenges. It's one of my favourites so far; it's a unique break from the average one-screen boss room

Here's an idea I just came up with:
Intermission levels between the Hubs. They can use the playable Boom Boom, and it could be Boom Boom going back to Bowser / whoever else, and Bowser etc. will give Boom Boom new powers that will be used by him in the next world / hub.
Or if that doesn't work, make it a cutscene of the NPC Boom Boom doing that stuff.
It could start from the arena of the last level of each hub, he makes his way to a secret base, gets his new powers, and the scene blacks out.

I have always wanted to see something like this, so I hope you can implement it (or something similar)! Can't wait to play the full game.

I'm not going to reveal everything! You're just going to have to wait and see...

I don't want to do cutscenes after each hub since they are only four levels long
