I think the reason why this happens is because they don't bother getting an é from the character map or by holding down the e key on their phone. It never bothered me, but I see why it annoys you.

Anyway, people do realize there are kids running around unsupervised on the net. They just don't really care, because it's not their fault the kid is doing that. There are effective ways to protect children from certain content on the internet, but it's up to the people responsible for the kids to use those methods.

This. Very much this. Some games especially get praised when I think they have no grounds to stand on, particularly Sonic Colors. I made a rant about Colors a little while ago on Codehaus:

There's...a way to get an é...without the character map...
(Please don't judge. Using the character map was how I taught myself to get an é on Windows. I may know a lot about technology, but Alt keystrokes are where I'm no good, unless it's Alt + F4.)
