Sorry I meant the word "cringe". Should've been more clear on that.HeroLinik wrote:It's some Japanese word that means "idiot".Enjl wrote:I don't believe you.
To be fair, it is a typical NintendoOtaku post.Enjl wrote:ironically this topic provided it
in all honesty though that up there ^ is the only cringworthy thing in this topic. Do any of you even know what that word means?
Not exactly, it's merely used inaccurately so not at the level of using "literally" incorrectly yet.ProngoKingdom wrote:lmao cringe is such a dopeazz word, nice memes fam xDDD ecksdee
Seriously though just hearing the word "cringe" pronounced makes me grimace. It's on a level of "literally" being used incorrectly.
It wasn't a typo of baby, it was just a random Danish word I decided to use for no reason.HeroLinik wrote:Mista Epic was some guy that got banned in the summer of 2015, and "babu" was probably some typo of "baby" considering how close Y and U are on the keyboard.arcade999 wrote:Who is mista epic? And what means babu?Snessy the duck wrote:On the forums, my most cringe moment has to be a very early spam post of mine. The topic title was random letters and the post itself simply said "mista epic is babu". Valtteri quickly locked it for good reason. Also, I made a topic discussing how many blocks should be in a 10-coin block, which was just plain stupid (But it could still provide an interesting discussion, considering I've seen some people use different coin amounts for multicoin blocks consistently).
So what means babu?Snessy the duck wrote:It wasn't a typo of baby, it was just a random Danish word I decided to use for no reason.HeroLinik wrote:Mista Epic was some guy that got banned in the summer of 2015, and "babu" was probably some typo of "baby" considering how close Y and U are on the keyboard.arcade999 wrote: Who is mista epic? It's basically the sound a fire truck makes in Danish word form.arcade999 wrote:So what means babu?Snessy the duck wrote:It wasn't a typo of baby, it was just a random Danish word I decided to use for no reason.HeroLinik wrote: Mista Epic was some guy that got banned in the summer of 2015, and "babu" was probably some typo of "baby" considering how close Y and U are on the keyboard.
Oh, ok lol.Snessy the duck wrote:It's basically the sound a fire truck makes in Danish word form.arcade999 wrote:So what means babu?Snessy the duck wrote: It wasn't a typo of baby, it was just a random Danish word I decided to use for no reason.
Wait, what?Inspirited wrote:Pretty much the story of every episode.
I'm saying my most cringeworthy moments in SMBX are reading the stories in episodes I play.arcade999 wrote:Wait, what?Inspirited wrote:Pretty much the story of every episode.

Aren't most episode's story just "Bowser stole Peach!" ?Inspirited wrote:I'm saying my most cringeworthy moments in SMBX are reading the stories in episodes I play.arcade999 wrote:Wait, what?Inspirited wrote:Pretty much the story of every episode.
Not purely. We're still seeing the "oh yeah, Bowser kidnapped Peach" storyline, but most of it now is just "Some random villain (but usually Bowser) has stolen the stars and you must get them back before something catastrophic happens", and it's usually hyped up in the early stages of playing an episode, yet it's forgone completely by the time you get to world 3 or similar. I had something pretty unique in my first project (which I sadly cancelled due to lack of inspiration), where Bowser hasn't just kidnapped Peach, but he's threatening to destroy the galaxy using a bomb, and it cannot be defused without the power of the Rainbow Wand, which nobody knows of its location. The stars were planned to be a minor collect-a-thon designed to unlock secrets, much like with how TI2 handled it, and the bomb, or at least a reference to it, would make appearances at the end of every world or something. Yet now, every single episode just has to be focused on stars...gee I wonder why...TheDinoKing wrote:Aren't most episode's story just "Bowser stole Peach!" ?
The "bowser kidnapped the princess" or "bowsers stole all the stars" concept is just irritating, I mean, you gives to the player the opportunity to create a mario thing...and they just do the exact same thing as Nintendo...it's like, can't you do something more original rather then the old 356656 time used Nintendo sauce?HeroLinik wrote:Not purely. I guess I could consider that one of my cringeworthy moments, because I had got up to world 5 before I threw it all away - I should have just kept the levels and come back to them later rather than just stop it completely.
Mostly because people usually don't play Mario games for the story. The story usually is just an excuse to play levels.arcade999 wrote: The "bowser kidnapped the princess" or "bowsers stole all the stars" concept is just irritating, I mean, you gives to the player the opportunity to create a mario thing...and they just do the exact same thing as Nintendo...it's like, can't you do something more original rather then the old 356656 time used Nintendo sauce?
True, but then the episode would be inaccessible to the average player.TheDinoKing wrote:Storywise, the only episodes that would make sense would have cheaply designed Kaizo levels, as Bowser (or another main villain) wants to stop Mario's quest.arcade999 wrote: The "bowser kidnapped the princess" or "bowsers stole all the stars" concept is just irritating, I mean, you gives to the player the opportunity to create a mario thing...and they just do the exact same thing as Nintendo...it's like, can't you do something more original rather then the old 356656 time used Nintendo sauce?
I don't really consider that cringeworthy specifically, more like laziness.A Goat wrote:having a cool idea for a level/project but being too lazy to do it
