The pyramid(or blah blah blah theme) will be puzzled-ish tho. Boy,invinsible note blocks,p-switches is a good idea on secret areas. I like that tbh. :v

His critics aren't "always" negative. You should see some of the other projects he has judged. The problem is that he ``dislike`` other people work, he totaly denigrate them! Yeah, you're kinda right about the whole gimmick thing. Also, I think the reason I made the screen so basic is because I had a sort of "Level-design block" at the time of designing it where I couldn't really get any ideas for unique level design, so I just made a straight path with some sizables and put bunch of goombas and koopa troopas and called it a day. I'll probably rework some of the screens to be less basic and have more enemy variation as well as things like pipes. The thing is that I don't really know what enemies would really fit the level (Most of you are probably gonna say lakitu, but I don't think that would fit the level very well) so any suggestions would be very appreciated!RudeGuy07 wrote:first off you should have come with a gimmick before starting the level. that screenshot is really basic.
anyway there are lots of things you can do with a sky + castle level: platform + lines + castle enemies; random blocks that move + castle enemies; focus on a certain enemy that is usually used on skies or castles; put floating water for no fucking reason. really, i don't see how couldn't you come up with gimmick.
