The problem though is that literally no one besides him had an actual problem with it
Also there is a comedic explanation. It's just not described in the joke itself. It's just like stereotype jokes. Actually it's exactly like them

The things you said in that post (e.g. "literally retarded", "horsefucker", and the whole bit about Valtteri) were tasteless, regardless of whether or not they offended anybody.

So even if nobody even gave a shit, people are still going to get punished in any kind of way for it, even if threads purposely meant to have sarcasm as the running gag have existed and were often encouraged by the entire community

But there's a difference between "literally retarded" and DarkMatt's harsh criticism. The latter offers criticism that, when taken objectively (easier said than done, I know), could actually help someone's level design while also having some offensive humor that doesn't go overboard. The former is just you wanting to say "literally retarded". It's tasteless and immature.

Both are offensive though, as someone can take it wrong very easily. Regular Criticism also exists. Just like regular jokes and offensive jokes.

Both are offensive, but one is tasteless and immature and the other isn't.

The problem doesn't lay in whether things are tasteless and immature. The problem lays with people being offended over such a thing. It being tasteless and immature is kinda opinionated while things being offensive is not.

The problem most certainly entails the tastelessness and immaturity of humor that exists on these forums. Tastelessness and immaturity might be more opinion-based than offensiveness, but they're both opinions. Or, at the very least, they're different from person to person. I don't get offended over jokes about Jewish people, but that doesn't mean they're not offensive/tasteless/immature. It comes down to whether or not offensive/tasteless/immature humor is allowed here, and that's ultimately up to the staff.

Are you saying I can be offensive all I want just as long as it's not tasteless and immature by your standards and not the majority of the community who actually posts?

"We need another genocide" is tasteless. Don't say stuff like that.

"We need another genocide" has a salty taste to me,
but humor is subjective anyway and no one person should decide what jokes are allowed or not based on opinion.

"We need another genocide" is pretty universally tasteless.

Why'd you bring this up? I never mentioned this anywhere.

I see nothing wrong with said post in said topic.
Besides, that had nothing to do with what we were talking about other than that being possibly offensive. Would it be taboo to talk about this game as well, then?

It's perfectly fine to talk about that game. That is completely different from saying "we need another genocide".

I think I see what you're getting at here with it being okay to talk about things, rather than "participate" in them. Like it's okay to talk about genocide, just not okay to say another one is needed. Either way I don't see the point in engaging with something that is purely hyperbole, when it can go unreplied to as it did in that thread and thus not be an issue to interrupt further discussion about the topic that has nothing to do with the reply.

If we let people go around saying stuff like that, then everyone will think it's okay. It was necessary to do more than just ignore it.
