The "Pit of 1000 Posts" still works for me. Even though it is just short of 1000, it's close enough for me.

After giving it a few days, I have to say I like it better the old way. There really are just too many posts per page now in my opinion, and especially on a phone, it's a lot harder to scroll down through 20 posts than to click next page or search for a page by number.

I personally like it this way, but I can see why some people would want the old system back. I think this forum hosting service supports drop-down menues for amount of posts per page, so you could add that to allow everyone to have their preferred page length. It shouldn't be a problem with the 100-page-archiving rule, as it's pretty much just a 1000-posts-archiving rule anyways.

I don't use a forum hosting service. There's no way to allow users to change the amount of posts per page.

Disable signatures then to reduce page size if it's that bad.

Good idea. Thanks. That helps a lot.

It was a bit weird at first, but after I got used to it, I think it's way better than the old system.

I agree. It already feels natural and I kind of like the change.
