Dear SMBX - Team,
I'm patiently waiting for the new final version 2.0 and would like to continue to do so.
I'm "very" looking forward to this version.

Therefore I'm also looking - estimated for a long time - at short intervals, if there is any news about this version.
At the moment I'm not sure if this version is ready until 31. December 2019.
I'm looking forward about any information from you about this software.

That's the thing, yknow? People on the dev team thought it would be ready by 31. December 2018 but then real life struck in early 2018 and the team's manpower decreased drastically since. Unfortunate circumstances, yeah, but this is the kind of stuff that invalidates all release predictions out of left field, which is why we avoided making any.

Due to those circumstances I don't have enough material for a new, satisfying blog post just yet. Once I have that material, there will be a link in this thread.

Thank you Enjl for your answer.
I'm still patiently waiting for the final release 2.0 - no matter how long it will take to get this version ready - and I'm simultaneously "very" looking forward to it.
I would like to thank all persons who work on this project.

Can you add the checkpoint sign from Mario Forever + Mario Forever Remake in SMBX2 beta 5?

Wouldn't this be kinda pointless? We already have a checkpoint, and we're getting another one in Beta 4.

Use custom graphics.

Correct, I appear to be familiar with me using custom graphics.
Added in 1 hour 49 minutes 28 seconds:

You're right! It is kind of pointless, by now I should be familiar that beta 4 will have new checkpoint NPCs! You mean the checkpoint will be patterned to the ones in Super Mario Maker?

The two checkpoints in Beta 4 are different in how they function. The traditional SMW checkpoint can be collected once during a level (though unlike in 1.3, you can place more than one). The new flag checkpoint will reset whenever you collect another checkpoint, so you'll be able to collect it more than once in a level as long as there's another checkpoint. This makes flag checkpoints more suitable for nonlinear levels where you might pass through the same area multiple times.
We don't plan to add checkpoints that only have cosmetic differences, since that is achievable with custom graphics.

Would an Encore Mode be possible? As in, 2 players are out at a time, and when you eat a ? Mushroom, one character will switch with one benched character, and you can use [SHIFT] to switch unbenched characters.

Character related mechanics aren't currently a focus, but I see the appeal and it could be doable in the future, however the ?-mushroom already has a purpose so it would probably be a new NPC and not necessarily mapped to the shift key. I feel like there are some issues with this idea though revolving around how you would switch between a bunch of characters manually during a battle, intense sequence of a level, etc.

Sounds like it's more suited for a per-episode implementation rather than a basegame one.

Potentially fun for Mario Challenge?

trying to change the URL doesn't help either because it's automatically changed back to https:// Firefox did the job

Yeah, never had any real problems with the site (and I also use Firefox like Cedur used to fix the site issues) so what browsers are y'all using?
