They're valuable because they're so freaking hard to obtain.

They have a 100% chance to drop if a skeleton shoots and kills a creeper
It's not hard to obtain
It's just tedious and annoying and people are too lazy to do it themselves or they never get the music disc they want

Value on items has gone out the window anyways since people got creative and spawned in a bunch of rare crap. Danny spawned several dozen Dragon Eggs all over Nien's castle for example.

I kinda wish people didn't get creative mode. The name of survival goes right out the window. :/

Well see, this is supposed to be a survival server. You are supposed to survive. The fact that users got creative mode to build a 'city' or a 'village' and whatnot kinda throws that whole concept out of the window. I can't say I didn't do that, because I did. But it makes it a lot more boring after a while, because there is no challenge.
Also, warps is another thing that bugged me. These towns are so close to each other, warps are really unnecessary.

I feel that once people are done making towns or whatever we can make it a big project to make a big roads system, and maybe once that is done we can remove any unnecessary warps and focus more on survival mode?

I've gone lax on keeping the server survival focused. I figure that once everybody is completely settled in with all their towns, roads, minigames, whatever, that I'll remove creative mode from everybody and force Survival onto people. Not sure if it will be worth it by then but I'll still do it. I figure at the end of this month maybe I could do it? It'll probably happen January 5th when I do maintenance and pay for the server, since that'll make the most sense.
Guys whoever has Creative mode has it until January 5th. Get to building roads to the main town and whatnot. Warps will be removed to most places, with the exceptions of a few places that are far, far out.

I figure since I got a few people that want to join in I can get a short little sign-up thing I guess. You will need a mic, and you will have to be dedicated through the whole game, which might last a while (The one that I did with Vinyl, Deoxys, Drluigi, and Dakras last year lasted around 4 hours? Maybe more or less, I don't remember).
Some of us will be recording/streaming the game, I think by some of us I mean Vinyl and I are streaming and Deoxys will be recording, not sure about the others. You guys can participate and stream/record gameplay as well. We'll be divided into teams of two depending on how many people we get or something. We have no date set yet but be prepared.

There's two music discs and they're supposed to be used inside.

Probably not a build promise I can keep, but I could make more sub pathways. And yes, please force survival. Creative is starting to get boring, since all I've been using it for so far is improving the aesthetics of VSMBXVillage, and building in the spawn town (which reminds me I should get back to work on the other power stations before Jan. 5th), or just flying around.
I don't know if it's been already added, but I would appreciate it if you added Lockette to the server when everyone gets survival. That's it though because I think some of the plugins that are already installed are causing lag.

I do plan on getting Lockette, or a Spigot counterpart.

Some of the plugins ARE causing lag. Before Spigot, I got no lag whatsoever. Now I get timed out every 5 minutes.

Hmm, I wonder if it's Spigot causing the problems. I'll look into it, and if Spigot is causing problems, I guess I will have to unfortunately remove it.

It might be just World Edit tbh. That thing takes a lot more memory than any other plugin.
I don't time out at all, but the server does seem to lag a tiny bit here and there, not to the point of unplayability.

If it is just World Edit, I'll take that out. :P
I'll check to see what's eating up so much memory, if it is World Edit, I'll remove it, but if it's Spigot entirely, I'll have to find an alternative. Hopefully it isn't Spigot because Nicky and Lockette are helpful.

Post your specs please/internet speed from speedtest.net. I don't understand how you're able to play at such a high resolution without lag unless you have a high-end computer.

I got OptiFine and added a bit more to my Page File and now I don't lag. So that's good I guess.
Also, I built a roadway over the subway from the castle to VSMBXVillage. It is by no means finished, but the path is there. I'm thinking arches, and some artificial scenery will make it look better once all the jagged blocks are smoothed out.

Alright.
Also, just to help any of you out that are having lag issues, I have a few things to help you out here. This is only for Windows users and I assume most of you have Windows Vista/7/8, so.
First off, I suggest you turn down the "Fog" or "Visible Chunks" or "View Distance" or whatever it is to 10 or under. Anything above 10 can glitch or lag your system. Turn graphics settings to Fast, shut off shadows, turn the lighting to Blocky, or the minimal settings, turn particle effects to Minimal. Basically, you want to gradually turn down the graphics settings so you can maintain a steady 30 to 60 FPS.
If it still lags, even with all of the settings on minimal, install the Optifine mod and then further configure graphics settings until you maintain a steady 30 to 60 FPS.
Still lag? Try installing the latest version of Java. If that doesn't work, try updating your Graphics Drivers. If that still doesn't work, follow these steps below.
Step 1. Open CONTROL PANEL.
Step 2. Type 'Java' inside the 'Search Control Panel' box.
Step 3. Click the Java icon that pops up.
Step 4. Click the Java tab.
Step 5. Click View...
Step 6. Assure there is only ONE line in here, any more lines could cause issues.
If you have multiple lines uninstall all versions of Java from your system and download Java JDK 7 from the following link.
http://jdk7.java.net/download.html
Make sure you check first to see what your OS is. If it's 32-bit (x32), get the 32-bit version, if it's 64-bit (x64), get the 64-bit version.
Step 7. Change Runtime Parameters to: -Xincgc -Xmx2048M
Change it depending on how much RAM you have. For 32-bit Operating Systems 768M is recommended. I use a 64-bit OS and I run it on 2048M
If you have 64-bit, or that doesn't work, continue to try the following:
1G
1536M
2G
As I said, this varies depending on how much System RAM you have.
Step 8. Click OK.
If you still, after all of this, find that Minecraft is lagging, you might need to update your computer hardware entirely.
