Uh teachers do that bc they know those aren't paying attention therefore they fail at answering it.
It's a common thing in german schools also. It also stands in the papers they get at the end of school.

They do it on purpose to mess with the kid who isn't paying attention, which isn't really worth bringing to the attention of the full class.

What about people with social anxiety who are scared of being in the spotlight and therefore don't raise their hands in class?

Turtwig was talking about people not paying attention, not people not raising their hands. A good teacher should be aware of their anxiety and respect that, after all those people still pay attention to what's going on.

Hm ok, point taken. But I agree with Turtwig to some degree. If people aren't paying attention, the teacher doesn't need to humiliate them in front of the whole class. If the teacher notices it, they just need to note it down and then the student gets an according oral grade. Teachers always complain about the students "wasting time" when it's loud for just 30 seconds already. If the time in class was really that valuable to teachers, they would recognize that by calling people who aren't paying attention and don't know the answer anyways, they'd just be wasting their time, so what's the point? Why not let the people who actually want to participate in class participate?

Here's some good ones.

-Getting called racist for calling someone stupid, because they WERE being stupid.
-Getting called an asshole for doing nothing wrong to the person.
-Getting called anything that does not describe me. (Example: Every foul-mouth name calling word in existence.).
-People getting into my personal space for no reason.
-When my brother tries to claim he's always right, defy the laws of logic, and constantly talking about himself and his problems. (Seriously, he RARELY talks about someone else.)
-Getting treated like a dirt-bag after trying to make amends with others.....
