Cheats can be discovered through the source code anyway. And the prophpbb servers are down. I really wish I had better options for forum hosting, so this will be something to be dealt with until I can afford paid hosting.

I got a Forum on Proborads if you want it?
It brand new and I didn't do anything with it.

I like prophpbb for free hosting. Their paid hosting is actually nice as well. The servers only really go down once a month or less.
It's decent but even that amount of downtime isn't good for a professional host.

There's been a change in plans. The first beta will be released on October 1st, and everyone will get to play it but Beta Testers get the source code for debugging. Read the rest of the thread for what to expect for the editor, along with very limited gameplay mechanics (walking left/right and falling due to gravity).

By the way since I'm mentioning the change in plan, I figure I should reiterate why. Since progress is slow atm (reason why: http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... 350#p74829) I figured an earlier release would help out better in the long run for people making suggestions, and helping out if needed. Also it gives everyone something to use in the meantime while the testers and I are working. The next release though after the first one in October could come from anywhere between a week to a month or two later.

Thank you for your interest in the game by the way!

Shouldn't this be moved to SMBX - General? Because it's about SMBX?

Because it is not really SMBX, but it can go in either forum really.

How would I go about becoming a beta tester? Is it simple or complicated?

One other tiny, probably rather easily implemented but incredibly useful addition I thought of would be the option of having the player lose their mount when they leave a level, like with the Kuribo's Shoe in SMB3 or with Yoshi in some SMW romhacks.

And also the option to keep Yoshi from entering certain levels like SMW styled castles and ghost houses.

You can do this pretty easily in SMBX by having the entrance section be the outside of the castle/whatever containing a door warp set to "No Yoshi". The player will regain their mount at the end of a level just like in SMW, and you can automate it using player control events if you want.

But to have it as an automatic option would be better dont you think? It saves event space, and its easier for the user.

There's a series of riddles and physical challenges to be done in order to find a map. That map will guide you on your journey to become a beta tester. But along the way you will realize that the journey is the destination, and you'll find everything you need in your heart.

...

Nah I'm just joshing ya. I've already made up my mind for who I want to be beta testers both now and later. Sorry bud. :/

Its good for him to choose, it would be just silly to choose randoms, that they think they know what they are doing. :)

Wow, that was unnecessary. All I did was ask the guy a question.
