Wasn’t zoom already a big hassle though? There’s way better alternatives, cause I remember that there were a lot of problems with it.

I'm passing all of my classes; our school has this thing where we have "synchronous" time and "asynchronous" time. Synchronous time is time spent on Zoom meetings and asynchronous time is time spent doing homework, which I just do my homework during class so I have more free time lol
I, too, have to use Zoom meetings due to the Covid-19! Except it's freaking for Social Skills on Mondays.

yeah Zoom has had a few outtages in the past couple months, but that's pretty much the only video call app our school uses
there was a problem with someone who wasn't a student logging in during my period 2 erwc class and causing trouble by playing offensive music; worst part was that when they logged in, their name appeared as one of the students in our class

True, Zoom is more of a
"shitware", so why can't schools just use freaking
Discord instead?

Didn't face problems with Zoom during last summer semester. BigBlueButton had worse sound quality though.

Because schools have a lot of reasons not to use Discord. And not everyone is 13+ which is a requirement to use Discord, plus some legal issues and that Discord is more for Gamer and not really Education and from experience I'm sure that most people wouldn't pay attention to the call then and instead chat with their friends on it and the servers they are on.
Still Discord would be the best free alternative, and If i would be a Teacher i would still recommend it! It just needs a good Team who manage the servers for each Class.
Zoom is just really trash and is known well for being easily affected by randoms, India and other countries and school banned it for it lack of shit.

Wow, I wish Zoom hopefully gets banned in central Texas, so I wouldn't be forced to do zoom meetings with my damn social skills group every Monday thanks to the virus!

Discord would not be better. And this isn't about price or features either. The unaddressed problem here is schools and businesses flocking to garbage technology and not being flexible enough to actually adapt. The classroom can't be replaced by technology, but learning isn't constrained to the classroom. Trying to recreate the classroom with technology just compounds the problems of education with the problems of internet security.

Then maybe out Governments should invest into better education equipment, we already had this problem in Germany back when it was February and there wasn't enough right equipment for home schooling. Now it came back again and Teachers still don't have the proper Equipment.

What equipment should be invested in exactly?

Both Trump and Melania tested positive for the coronavirus. This is not something to joke about as he is of the age demographic with the most fatalities, and being overweight puts him at an elevated risk. He is so far asymptomatic and will be in quarantine. It is not clear if this will prevent Trump from carrying out his duties causing Pence to be sworn in. It is okay to react to this information, but please be respectful.

Don’t ask me what exact equipment should be invested in, schools work alright when everyone can go there but when it comes to home schooling because of a quarantine moment nothing works well and then kids won’t be able to learn right without the right things they need.
Also since Trump is positive, what about the day where him and Biden had their first fight? Shouldn’t everyone who was there and Biden be tested?

The fact that Trump doesn't eat a healthy diet makes the situation even worse.

Trump is headed to Walter Reed hospital for tests. He has mild symptoms and has taken antibodies.

This is a good visualisation of the spread of the virus in each state by their partisanship.

The problem is not so much public services that would be locked down, it's especially private mass gatherings and so many people refusing to wear masks (i.e. they don't wear one at all or don't cover their face, which is even more fake)

It should be pointed out that correlation is not causation and "employ proven science" is a weaselly phrase. In fact the politicization of the pandemic and treating science as an oracle that guides public policy comes off as technocratic and authoritarian which people are more likely to resist. That said there is a much stronger link between increased risk of infection among populations, namely black and hispanic, that are in front line work and haven't been able to self-isolate.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... icity.html
There has also been a major spike in the UK (which has a far stronger public health system than the US) and still the South Asian population is at an increased risk compared to the white population. And what makes it worse is that diabetes and other immune system issues are strongly associated with obesity which is again more concentrated in the black and hispanic populations in the US, and the South Asian population in the UK. And that of course is strongly associated with COVID-19 hospitalization and death.
