i think my small caps post was one of the most obviously satirical posts in this thread

I know right? And now you have everyone fainting over Zelda Breath of Fire because of "explore anywhere you see" and "nonlinear story" and "no annoying NPCs". Super Mario Bros. has the classic story and it really feels like Mario's on a big long adventure. Super Mario Bros. 3 is great for all the fun new things it brought to the table without breaking the Mario lore, like Boom Booms and Buster Beetles.
It does have canons in the startKILROCK wrote:Mario Galaxy isn't canon, it's part of a bigger Mario universe but not relevant to the main timeline. I like your spirit, though.
You're thinking of "cannon". "Canon" refers to mutiple ideas (in thid case the Mario games) that share repeated attributessuper mario galaxy wrote:It does have canons in the startKILROCK wrote:Mario Galaxy isn't canon, it's part of a bigger Mario universe but not relevant to the main timeline. Because Marioheads have a somewhat demented view of the Mario universe and won't accept it as being part of the same series of gamessuper mario galaxy wrote:so why is super mario galaxy not part of the mario series main story?PixelPest wrote:You're thinking of "cannon". We are only following John Nintendo's perspective.PixelPest wrote:Because Marioheads have a somewhat demented view of the Mario universe and won't accept it as being part of the same series of gamessuper mario galaxy wrote:so why is super mario galaxy not part of the mario series main story?PixelPest wrote: You're thinking of "cannon". Actually, I made a timeline to link all the Mario games quite a while back, and I'm still updating it. I see the Mario games as having a continuity to them, beginning with Yoshi's Island, followed by the Marios being sent to Earth and failing to get a job, and then they enter the Mushroom Kingdom. However, it might be a bit more complicated than that, especially considering the ending of SMG, by resetting the universe, throws off the other games on the timeline.super mario galaxy wrote:sorry to burst your bubble but all the mario games don't have continuity so
really it not clear what is canon and what isn't

That's why I put the Mario Party games at the end of the timeline. According to my timeline, it shows Bowser failing over and over again to the point where he stopped becoming evil after the events of Mario Party 8, and after playing Triangle Twisters in Mario Party DS and having a fun time, he accepted the bros. as friends. This set the ground for the other spinoffs like Mario Kart, Mario Golf and Mario Tennis.super mario galaxy wrote:to link yes i seen it it is very interesting but some games aren't canon like mario party as mario and bowser are friends
that doesn't make sense
Go ahead and bump up my timeline topic.super mario galaxy wrote:yes, i do believe that mario kart is also not linked but we can talk about this in that topic
Pls grow up i didn't do any harm or insulted you so why be such a baby and go straight into defensive mode?super mario galaxy wrote: tinkerbell you will get reported
I'd say that the timeline kind of goes like this: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island/Yoshi's New Island ----> Yoshi's Island DS ----> Mario's Early years (Maybe) ----> Donkey Kong/(arcade/gameboy/game and watch/NES)? ----> Donkey Kong Jr ----> Mario Bros (Arcade/NES/Game and Watch)? ----> ???Linik wrote:Actually, I made a timeline to link all the Mario games quite a while back, and I'm still updating it.
