It's almost soothing.
Then I notice that it's a dead guy, and it's suddenly not soothing.

To be honest I don't see any problem with them

Some areas are actually incredibly cramped.

Yes I know it looks like Castlevania, but the tileset is custom made.

More like "Looks like nothing" because I need a flashlight to even see the blocks.

You are always the one to complain about the brightness all the time, those blocks are very easy to see.

Not really. Especially the spikes are quite hard to see.

That's not about brightness, that's about if you can clearly see something without problems. And that stuff is too much dark, especially the red-purple blocks.

Screen-wise I can see everything just fine aswell. I could go on questioning the upside-down gravestone, but I'll leave it be for now. My issue is that a player playing this level will overlook enemies and traps 90% of the time, because they blend in too much and are too indistinguishable from anything else. While this issue can occur in any kind of level, the darker/ more monotone (independend from one another, but add up) the level is, the more often it occurs.
And of course I complain if you do something wrong. I'm not here to praise you for making mistakes. I'm here to give you a push and point out where you did wrong, so you can avoid it the next time you do something similar. And I think it's fair, because you're doing the same thing (which I appreciate).
Example:
<Superiorstar> Emral: the new one looks worse than the old one
<Superiorstar> the purple clashes with the blue.

Yes. You do that exceptionally well. It can be galling, but your criticism is always helpful so I guess I won't complain.

Gonna be honest here. That's the ugliest tileset I've seen in years. (And it's way too dark like Enjl said.)
