I was just telling him to feel free to create some NPC's for Beta4 if he wanted to. If he can say make Phanto for example and it works 100% like it does in the game I doubt you guys would not use it. Just saying nothing wrong with other people contributing right?

It's probably a good thing the release hasn't happened yet. Gives me more time to actually plan the episode properly before moving on to level crafting.

Wonder what it could possibly be this time... hmm... 3d maps... No, it couldn't be that, surely...
i think it will be showing off new NPCs or something?

The devs kinda said that Kirby is one of the hardest characters to code. It would take longer than any current characters we have just to make a properly working Kirby. Also, if the abilities are limited to powerups, wouldn't that be not good due to little variety?

I think SMB3 and SMW NPCs are going to be completed in Beta 4 anyway. They are mostly Pipelined now.

Was thinking more of ways how Kirby would interact with the power-ups and given that no actual power-ups can be added to the game for Kirby to have multiple forms the copy abilities would have to be separate from the power-up at least from my guess. Also I wouldn't mind some updates to characters like giving Wario an actual shoulder bash attack rather than having him do it upon running. Also if all SMB3 and SMW npcs are finished that would be nice although considering adding new power-up isn't possible yet I know the list won't be complete and I'll have to reference the spreadsheet to the mariowiki to see if any enemies are not included.

Those 2 have been a work in progress for several months. Not sure if HenryRichard is waiting for help or what is going on?

There has not been a lot of new NPC's recently pipelined and Enjl usually does not show anything in progress so I would assume it is for something else.

As much as I want to see more DKC or Kirby enemies I agree that the Mario roster should be filled up first. We don't have Boomerang Bro, Ice Bro, Amazing Flying Hammer Bro, Porcupuffer, Urchin, Beezo, Angry Flying Sun and the Flying Blooper just to name some of the core enemies from the main games still not started. Having said that it seems like NPC's are hard to create and so this will continue to be a slow area of progress but at least we can be thankful new NPC's are being added.

Again progress on NPC's is slow because they are hard to create and there is many still not started or stuck in the "work in progress" phase. There is several I listed in my previous post not even in the rescource claims sheet yet and I did not even name anything from Yoshi's Island or New Super Mario Bro's. I was told in the past the dev's are not looking to have them all done before Beta4. Best we can do is be thankful for the ones we do get.

As much as I want to see more DKC or Kirby enemies I agree that the Mario roster should be filled up first. Don't forget core variations of the existing enemies too like I wouldn't mind seeing a SMB1 Lakitu that moves only left and right behaving like the original lakitu would or a SMB3 lakitu that throws actual spinies and maybe some SMB1 spinies too. I mean the game has five different variations of goomba so I don't see the problem in completing the roster even if some of the enemies are repeats.

For anyone concerned about the progress of NPCs; last night, 23 NPCs were pipelined that were previously labeled as "Waiting". Pretty much all of them are related to platform lines. Apologies if I spoiled anything that could be related to the blog post...

Sir Kibble and Waddle Doo are both Kirby enemies that are fairly unique.

Isn't an SMB3 lakitu that throws actual spinies just the SMB1 lakitu.

Isn't an SMB3 lakitu that throws actual spinies just the SMB1 lakitu.
Actually the movement of the two lakitus is the same but the throwing arch is different as shown in these videos (in SMB3 one go to 7:08 for lakitu encounter).

SMW Lakitu move differently then SMB Lakitu and I'm tired of this reskin old enemies to make them into "new" enemies mentality which was something you were forced to do in 1.3.0.1 but with 1.4.4 and 2.0 you can code new enemies from scratch. Speaking of which I wouldn't mind seeing more SMB3 koopalings behave like their counterparts and are not just a reskin of Larry and I remember a few levels make them legit so I know it's possible.

Are we forgetting that SMBX 1.3 has a built in feature where Lakitus placed at this y-coordinate will move more akin to the ones in older games?
Just npc:transform(newid) over the spiny eggs as they spawn to get them to fire a different NPC, really.

lol most of them aren't difficult
They're not finished cause SMBX2 is only a hobby project and you can't expect everyone on the team to work on it every day.
