Yeah, I remember that you used that custom Yoshi on me during that one tournament. What the fuck, dude? How was he that strong, and that was my first ONLINE tournament.
All characters are seemingly equally balanced. Not all are easy to use (I find Yoshi's floaty air physics to be quite awkward and distracting from my own aerials), but none are bad. It's all about your skill in how well you can use them. There's no one character that will always nab any player a win, but there is a character for each personal player that will lead that player to victory. I would recommend experimenting with different characters until you find one you find easy to use and reliable in the strength of your own playstyle.
I find fast jumpers and fallers to be quite handy, so I should look into which other characters can perform fastest in the air. I see that Yoshibrothers definitely is used to the floaty air physics, so there's no way I can be quite like him. Heh.

I only have one main (and lord): Ganondorf. I can also play Link, Robin and Pit sometimes.
Also I'm open to friendlies so don't hesitate to send me a PM. I can't join the tournament though.

I very rarely use the Kid Icarus characters, if at all. Now of course I would not use them for competitive play being my current main lineup, but I just don't find the Pits or Palutena that fun to use.

Never played SSB4, but from what I've seen of it the Swordfighter looks like a combination of LINK and Ike, just faster/lighter.

Neither the Sword Fighter or the Gunner are any good in competitive play, but more so for the former. The Brawler on the other hand can be quite overpowered depending on the setup.

The tiers are generally considered to be a lot closer together than they were in Melee and Brawl, if it's any consolation. But yeah Mii Swordfighter is listed as trash tier in pretty much every tier list I've seen.

I like playing as Zelda on relatively large stages in non-competitive multiplayer, because I can just constantly teleport everywhere and mess with people. ^_^

Mega Man is a tricky character character to master at, in my opinion. And he doesn't have a lot combo potential to be honest.
