I think your level had the largest variance in judge scores

Yep thanks for the catch. Downside to having to put these together later is that my mind is a jumbled mess but otherwise seems to be working out so far

Even though the aesthetics were a little lacking I actually really enjoyed playing your level after the first section. The platforming was quite fun

If the results above my level were all released, I would be complaining about a tie being split by tiers. Anyway, thanks for the heads up on improvements. The switches not working is me trying to over compensate for a midpoint death since they were added just for the contest. Thought I was careful with the wrap and the Venus fire trap. As for those taking off for making peach mandatory, she was not. You could have used any Character you wanted that was not Link, so...
Thanks for the feedback regardless.

Ok so let me get this straight: Before you play the level you have to go through what is basically a cutscene and then the midpoint is placed right before an empty corridor??? Come on.
Sorry that I didn't place a checkpoint after five seconds of walking in a relatively long level, didn't realise somebody would actually be this annoyed by 2% of the level's timespan being flavor and not gameplay.

It's generally a good idea to place checkpoints as close to the action as possible to cut down on iteration time post-death. A flavorful scene in a level has charm when experienced the first time, but if you see it a dozen times it loses some of that charm.

Let's resume how my placement changed in those days:
4th > 7th > 11th

Here's the thing: since both sections are basically "hold right to win", its akin to the respawn time being extended by multiple seconds. Games with shorter respawn times, like most recently Celeste, feel smoother because you respawn faster. On the other hand, if your respawn takes longer, it creates more frustration if you die and takes yoi away from the action temporarily.
And there's like no excuse for placing the midpoint right before the corridor.

Not last, woohoo!
There were instructions given to skip the slow scroll boss monologue if you paid attention, but it doesn't really affect the level besides speeding up the boss grind

Alright, glad I got my results! So what I mainly got from it was
Remove the secret star or make it more well hidden
Make the building actually like it's collapsing
Make the boss harder to avoid
Make the background match the rest of the stage
Improve the difficulty curve

Now I have learned why it is never a good idea to wait to the last minute to rush your level and try to submit it.

Why?
VLDC contests let the public play the levels before judging even starts.
SCC didn't have a rule restricting this either.
Here especially people already know roughly how good a level is cause they can already see the scores. What's there to lose?
Even in the first post:
You may not post a download link in public to your level before the results of your level are released.
It says: Wait until the results of "your" level are released.
Changing the rules halfway through seems like a pretty crappy deal.

Just fair to people who have their results released later, coherent with not being allowed to post a download link until the contest is over. CCs have done it iirc, but in the future we'll see about getting rid of this restriction since it can be a pain, unneededly so
