If there isn't already, there should be rules in place to punish users that constantly quit in the middle of mafia games.

We're going to make some rule adjustments before M12.Nickname wrote:He had a reasom though.qig wrote:If there isn't already, there should be rules in place to punish users that constantly quit in the middle of mafia games.
Oops, I was targeted as a bad guy because I didn't want to play with somebody who was going to be a dick so I should be punished, my mistake everyone, I should have kept playing and have been forced to play with somebody I didn't want to play with.qig wrote:If there isn't already, there should be rules in place to punish users that constantly quit in the middle of mafia games.
I signed up for the game expecting a game where the host wouldn't insult a player. And I signed up for the game expecting people to play it smart and not randomly vote somebody based on the roles they were in previous games.Zeldamaster12 wrote:You signed up for the game, what made you think that there would be zero arguments? Arguments and drama happen in Mafia sometimes.
If you want my full opinion, read my reply to your text wall on M11.
Layla apologized. While it was still wrong, and I'm still kinda aggravated about it, it didn't change the flow of the game, necessarily.8bitmushroom wrote:I signed up for the game expecting a game where the host wouldn't insult a player. Gohan didn't have a reason to vote for Marina other than "he was mafia the last two games", which is a shit reason.Zeldamaster12 wrote:Also, about Gohan, while his vote didn't have much logic, he was still right about Marina being a Mafioso. While his reason didn't have logic at the time, it was still a reason to vote for someone. When voting for someone, you must have a reason, and Gohan did have a reason.
How didn't we play it smart? I'd like you to explain that before you say everyone was equal in the situation.Gohan wrote:I understand why you werent going to vote Marina, because you were both Mafia, but you guys didnt play it smart either. Everyone was equal in the situation.
Zeldamaster12 wrote:While his reason didn't have logic at the time, it was still a reason to vote for someone. When voting for someone, you must have a reason, and Gohan did have a reason.
Alright, can you fucking stop telling me I should have stuck around? It wouldn't have made a difference because I would have gotten killed the next day anyway as Gohan suspected me, and he even stated he did, so stop telling me I should have stuck around because I would have died anyway.Zeldamaster12 wrote:It shouldn't have happened in the first place, I agree, but I think Layla's learned not to do it again. I understand why you left the game, but regardless, you should have stuck it out until the end like everyone else. You signed up for the game, expect anything to happen.
Also, refer to this:Zeldamaster12 wrote:While his reason didn't have logic at the time, it was still a reason to vote for someone. When voting for someone, you must have a reason, and Gohan did have a reason.
We don't need to argue with 8bit, everyone.I wrote:Foreword: What I say in this post is not final, and more formal adjustments will be made after further discussion with Pseudo-dino in the near future.

Now, as people have stated, there have been some problems with Mafia recently, particularly in this game. To make it fair, punishments will not be given out to people on rules which have not been clearly defined as of this particular moment with the exception of GMarinaX who will not be able to participate in M12. As stated in the Mafia Rules, usage of screenshots, whether real or editted, is not permitted. The same also applies to text logs. You may post the text of a conversation, but a screenshot of a chat window is not permitted.
To get back to the problem at hand, there are two main issues I would like to focus on in this post in particular. Both of these strongly relate to sportsmanship. Now, Ignoritus has stated before that Mafia is a team game, and players should support their team and not circles of friends. Similarly, the attitudes of players should support this positive sportsmanship. The flaming that may occur in arguments here is not permitted just as it would not be permitted elsewhere on the forums. Remember that this game is supposed to be fun. Sure, sometimes people won't listen to what you want, and that's to be expected. Mafia is a game of suspicion and manipulation at heart. Don't be upset about that! It's going to happen. Everyone will have games where he or she wins or loses. You cannot win all of the time or as much as you may like, but this doesn't mean you should be angry at others. For example, there was an argument a few matches ago where one player back-stabbed his friend, and it hurt their friendship. I personally don't want to see things like this happen, and they really shouldn't. To get back to my point, we all need to be supportive in our attitudes. Qig has been one of the first to die in a few games recently, and he's not complaining about it. Death in this game isn't something to get worked up about as he has shown. Oftentimes it can be exciting to spectate the arguments that break out. Of course I expect arguments among parties, but keep them civil. Prove your points with logic, not emotion.
The second issue comes up with the whole concept of quitting. I can understand where 8bitmushroom is coming from and the reason he quit this game. I don't blame him, and he is not being punished for this. However, I would like to say that we need to commit a bit more to mafia games. Dropping out due to inactivity is one thing, but quitting purely out of frustration is not. Not only does this hurt your team's chances of winning, but it can ruin the atmosphere of the game of the other players as seen here in M11. It will likely become a rule here soon that players need to make the commitment to the games. Things may be bad this game, but this should be an exception to the attitude seen in Mafia games. If we can improve the attitude I mentioned before, I don't think this will be a problem.
Yes, Mafia is a game, but it should be taken seriously. Although people may get worked up over things from time to time, we are all friends here, and you all need to remember that. Lighten up and have some fun with us. :)
Now, as this is not the topic for this kind of discussion, feel free to comment on this post in the general discussion topic. Enjoy the game!
