OHHH. No, you won't have to make their sprites either; I'm going to be the one to make their sprites (or find a sprite to represent them). Remember: I'm making the boss fights; you just have to make the level.

Sure. Just be aware that levels will be arranged by difficulty after all level slots have been filled (so I can compare the levels with each other), and that slots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis (though given the lack of interest toward this project, you won't have to worry about that).

All right, I finally finished enough of the intro cut-scene to show a presentable beta! Remember: the concept of the episode is that every software aspect of the forums is a real thing. For example, the forums are a real, physical location (with buildings and stuff) instead of a website. The intro shows a few scenes from Redigit's old forum, then transitions into the current forum and the initial attack of the High SMBX Council.

Nice one, IMNBH4L (What long nickname e.e)!

I see that the topic changed, and there's no more the list that shows the members like Me and Castlewars, and some other members (Hacked Members, i mean). There's no more member cameos except for the distressed members?

And sorry for be off so long, i was some hard things to do. I hope don't exit for so long again.

Yeah; basically, Tangledlion decided to leave the community, so I took over his project and made it to where you have to make and submit a level if you want to appear in-game (hacked members are gone since the player will be fighting the HSMBXC directly). If you want to make a level, be sure to follow the rules in the first post.

Btw, if I seem inactive, then I'm sorry, lol. I have a huge load of IRL sh!t coming in my way.

(Also, does anybody know why Raster got banned? Was thinking of making his level Mafia-themed, looking at his posts. But I'm still wanting to add some comical stuffs.)

Thanks for the kind feedback, DatDude. As far as being inactive, don't worry too much about it; I'd rather you (and anyone else making a level to) take the time to make a good level.

If I remember correctly, all members of the HSMBXC were banned simply for being members of the HSMBXC (and because of what the HSMBXC did), Raster included.

Yes, it was removed (along with all the levels I made for the old plot) since forum castles will be the only level type in this episode. You can always swap out the graphics to make it look more castle-y, expand the level a bit, then re-submit it as a forum castle if you want.

Okay, after actually reading the first post, I think that only 5 levels isn't enough. Maybe it could be more like SMB1 where there are 4 levels a world, increasing it to 20? Even if you only have 3, that's still 15 levels.

Here's my reasoning: MECHDRAGON777 is making a level. In the ~9 months that Tangledlion hosted this episode, we got three levels: one of which was mine, one which was disqualified for being poorly designed, and the third was yours. Three levels in nine months! I'm well aware that a 5-level episode will be super-short, but it's not a question of whether 5 levels is enough, but whether 5 levels is feasible (though, admittedly, I had envisioned each level as a semi-nonlinear gauntlet-type level, like the ones in Super Mario Legends, when I'll most likely get levels that are more like SMB1). If this 5-level mini-sode gets finished, I'll set up a poll to see if people would rather have it take longer to finish.

Also, if it makes you feel better, I have plans to make a post-game level, and I might have to make the bosses in an lvl file separate from their level, so that's a grand total of 6-12 levels. :)

It has been a while since this thread has seen any activity, so I decided to bump it again. Although there are no new screenshots this time (don't wanna spoil anything else), progress has been steady; if you look at the first post often enough, you'll occasionally notice one of the numbers having increased (I try to keep it as up-to-date as possible).

Speaking of the first post, you may have noticed that Switch Goombas aren't allowed. However, if any of you want to use that gimmick in your level, I made some Switch Troll Bots to take their place:

They're basically Troll Bot recolors that sprite-swap the Switch Goombas. Also: note that, for some reason, framestyle=2 doesn't work on them.

Also, if your level uses something inherent to SMBX that some users may not know about, don't bother putting an explanation for it in the level; I'm going to have a "Help & Support" area of the hub that will serve as the tutorial part of the episode.

Sorry I haven't been real active with this project. I've just been busy lately. I'm going to try and finish levels for this project, Including the locked one I promised to make.

That's okay; like I told DatDude, I'd rather have good levels submitted than have levels submitted quickly.

Wait, you're making more than one level? I suggest focusing on only one until it's complete, then submit it before working on any others. Also, if you haven't already, go ahead and read the rules in the first post; I changed a few things when I took over.

Well, I just have so many ideas for good levels that I can't focus on just one, really. Don't worry, though. I'm just sort of getting the levels' beginning and bare bones set up while I focus on one specific level so that when I finish that level, I can come back to the others and be like "Oh, that's the idea I had in my mind for the level." and finish it.

All right, Imaynotbehere4long, I just read the rules. And, crap. Most of my level ideas are now scrapped for this project, because they weren't fortresses or bases. I was going off of the original project's vision, and making different levels. Ah well, I guess my level's a castle now.
