Honestly though, I do support waiting until these extensions are complete until putting them in an official release.

The normal one is the setup one the zip one has everything in it which means you don't have to run a setup.
It's basically the same anyway.

I go to get 1.3 because my current computer is a piece of shit and i know how much memory 1.3.0.1 takes up over 1.3, I can't find it in any legitimate websites (I highly doubt soft32 is legit), so I go to ask where I can find 1.3, then I find out my shitty Windows XP computer with 256 MB of ram is too shitty to even run SMBX. Oh well, in the case i get a new computer, I do suggest some optimizations. The round blue windows turning transparent is also a bit of a problem, at least in the case of "The Invasion 2", the houses just look strange.

1.3.0.1 takes up the same amount of memory/CPU as 1.3.
Either way, we're not going to give out download links to older versions of SMBX from sources that have not been verified. Someday we may set up an archive of older SMBX versions, but for now the only version that we officially offer support for is 1.3.0.1. Help with any versions with LunaDLL/Lua/PGE will be redirected to their respective threads.

If Wohlstand will be able to make SMBX 1.4.1 easy to run, (so no need of add-ons or Chinese region and etc) are we going to support SMBX 1.4.1 too or not?
(basically we'll have 2 options: SMBX 1.3.0.2+LunaLUA and SMBX 1.4.1)

Well, now that SMBX 1.4.1 is out, I wonder how furious Joey is gonna be ;') Even though it's a bit hard to set up right, it works great and probably small amount of people will want to make levels in good old SMBX 1.3.0.1 again!
(and yes I'm back, I really want to participate in all the drama you guys have)
Anyway I opened a discussion thread for SMBX 1.4.1 at PGE Forum, because Joey would probably delete it in this forum. You can post there if you feel like discussing SMBX 1.4.1 with us:

I honestly doubt that, considering how hard 1.4 is to set up. Nearly all people here use SMBX, and as such, it'll take a long time before the majority moves on to 1.4, seeing as it's not really worth putting effort into an 1.4 level if only a handful of people are gonna play it.

Well, if Wohlstand is going to be successful about fixing stuff in SMBX 1.4, we can switch versions quickly. Also on IRC, Wohlstand said that KFCMario and Snoopy_Tour are trying to help him in some stuff, so that's a good sign I guess...

The version of SMBX that people are calling "1.4.1" was something that Wohlstand and Kevsoft discovered that was made by someone in China. It is in no way a stable version of SMBX, and we do not offer support for it here. There is no "move" to "1.4.1" that is happening.

I agree with you, but not at this point yet. Since it's really messy to set up correctly, I don't think lots of ppl would switch to it successfully, only like 5-10% of the community, but for a change like this, we'd need like the 75-80% of the players. So my idea about smbx 1.4.1 is to not support it unless Wohlstand and Kevsoft can make it... y'know, easy to set up.

It still won't be supported, Joey will find any reason to not to support it. I can bet.

same amount of memory? What? I remember seeing in media fire... I guess that's the princess cliche doing that. Nevermind then, I'm just a dumbass. The 1.4 thing sounds like very exciting news though, I hope I can get a better computer by the time they make it easier to set it up.

Oh, you meant disk space? Yeah, SMBX 1.3.0.1 takes up slightly more with The Princess Cliché added in, but it's not too big of a difference.

SMBX 1.4.1 would be more stable when we will grab it's source code and then I will have able to fix lots of incompatibility and buggy things. Anyway PGE even while it's WIP is more stabler than both SMBX 1.3.* and 1.4.*.
So, I agree than it's is NOT ready to public release because requires a lot of tricky things to take it working

How are you able to get the source code for SMBX 1.4.1 but not 1.3.0.1, if you don't mind my asking?
Redigit never had it released or given out. He probably deleted it. With 1.4.1, they'll ask for it, then it would come with acceptance/denial from there.

if you do happen to get 1.4*'s source code, i'd love to play around with it also
