Yeah. Starting out with a clean slate would solve quite a lot of problems with the current state of the judges, but the problem is, as stated previously, some of the judges have been newly elected so it would be unfair to them, having to go through the application process once more.

I might try out this "reviewing" thing for myself.

The more people doing it and bringing activity the better. Just don't do that 10-scale stuff pls.

Yeah, we definitely need better rating systems.

Part of what we do is moderate (in the Levels, Projects, and Episodes forums)...

I would personally go on a more word-based level, like "Good", "Excellent" or "Unplayable" instead of /10 systems. However, the problem is that it may be ambiguous as to what is wanted.

Honestly I don't see the reason for having anything but "Excellent" as you say, as a separate ranking for levels. Everything below that would be at least average - which I see no reason for moving, and naturally that makes up the bulk of the reviewed levels - and I don't see a point in having a whole category for "Unplayable" levels either when nobody wants to browse or play with them.

I'd be in favor of a rating system like that. We could separate them into "The Trash Can," (for levels that simply aren't fun or are broken) "Average," (for levels that could work as part of an episode but don't have enough substance to work as a stand-alone level) "Pretty Good," (for levels that are fun to play) and "The Best" (for Pretty Good levels that really show off what SMBX can do). Maybe we could have another category called "ambitious but flawed" for levels that would otherwise be in Pretty Good if it weren't for a few issues, but don't really fit into Average, either.
Linik wrote:However, the problem is that it may be ambiguous as to what is wanted.
That's what the reviews are for. You don't just post "10/10" without explaining yourself, and you wouldn't just post "Excellent" without explaining yourself, either.

Or did I misunderstand what you were talking about?

Still waiting for some changes to be made. The poll ran, and people clearly want changes made.

The poll could easily be, and is likely total bs. You could have easily bribed people into voting for a certain option or just gone onto different devices to select a certain option over and over yourself. And the result is "okay, needs some work" anyway, so really, the majority of people don't really want much change and there's no way to know what small changes those people want put in place

With all due respect, that's bullshit.

The vast majority of people want changes made so changes need to be made.

How do we know you didn't do any of the things I suggested above? And what changes should be made? Again, how do you know what people want changed?

Hmm. There's 8 votes for keeping things the way they are. How do we know the LJs didn't all collude and vote for that??? Argument = Invalid, make the changes discussed ITT please.

WHAT CHANGES. So either way my point still stands. Whether it was you or us, either way the poll is bs

The poll is not bs, you just lost is all.

Now read the thread and make some changes accordingly to what people asked for. You could start by reviewing levels instead of making asinine posts like this.

The poll shows that people think the system is "ok, needs some changes". I dunno what they mean by these changes but nothing that has been suggested in this thread (remove Level Judges, remove level categories, remove numbers, post every level in one topic) I think falls under the "some changes" category. Those are some really extreme solutions.

The poll shows that of the 46 people that voted so far, 24 people do want those extreme solutions (or something similar and not those specific ideas) while 8 people don't and 14 want something changed. That's how people feel.

We can start with all of that and let people weigh in as we go.
