Since we're on the topic of YouTube, and wondering about the most recent post, I guess I'll say this:

I must be the only monetized LP'er who actually did want Nintendo to Content ID my own videos for ad revenue. I had been hiding it for a while, and even when I expressed an opinion on monetization before, I never said this.

In my defense though, this is not something I would wish for as a website standard. It just makes it easier for me to follow my original intentions. Back when I first found out about the existence of gaming partners in 2010, the first thing that came to my mind was how the developers would be credited.

Oh i always though i was the only one about bossedit.
IdlI when he replaced the custom music also bc he wants everyone to see it or else they restricted but k proxy? And smbx defsult doesn't even fit and its still copyright. Also he always corrupts level by finding evry glitch he sees.

Isn't this the Point of the playthrough in general?
Bomber57 wrote:Oh yeah he died once in my CC9 level then skipped the rest of it what a fucking joke.
If the final lock to the final Boss is already open, I can just go there with no restrictions. I have to admit that skipping most of the Levels just by one death wasn't a pleasent choice but the Episode Needs to be done! I shouldn't have done that though.

I don't want my Videos to be flagged with 3rd Party Contents especially when it has to do with locking a entire Country for it. I want my Videos to be viewable to everyone without any Special devices to use just to get one link.
Sinem wrote:And smbx defsult doesn't even fit and its still copyright.
At least there's Music in it instead of just nothing and it depends which Music I choose. SMW for the most do have Copyrights in it.
Sinem wrote:Also he always corrupts level by finding evry glitch he sees.
To prevent that error to happen in the future like not design something like that and for fun.

Playthroughs are uncommented gameplay of a game. They do not strictly involve showing off and highlighting mistakes the designer made, which no player but the one doing the playthrough would ever find. However, nothing restricts the player from doing so. Being so throughout just takes up a long time, and I personally find the glitch exploits rather disrespectful, as honestly, you're straight-up saying "you know your level is nice and all, but this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this are all things you overlooked while designing, but which I was able to find instantaneously."

If music copyright goes as far as blocking a video in a country or muting the aufio worldwide, try changing the pitch. It will still sound reminiscent of the original music, while keeping you out of trouble.

I get it but that's how I Play SMBX in General anyway! Other games that isn't exactly the case though like Touhou.

I personally don't really like pitching specific spots on my Videos since it sounds weird and also it Counts as a 3rd Party Content anyway even after changing the pitch but this oftenly happens if it isn't highpitched enough. It's safer to replace a Music to a different Music that way. I still can do it though, it's just that I have to use a Video Editor to do it.

A quick look at my recent copyright strike and how pitching fixed it/how much pitch is enough:

Also, you shouldn't pitch your youtube video, but the level's audio file. Use audacity for that.

I don't see a strike. All I see is the audio claim and restriction. Did you get the strike after a dispute attempt?

Nope, but after upload I got an E-Mail saying that my video got permanently muted due to copyright violation. Additional details, such as the company and song title are in the mail. It's basically the same as third-party-content claims.

I had a load of copyright strikes on my old channel, clone2delta. Needless to say, lots of my videos were muted.

More opinions

-YouTube as a platform, is a load of shit when it comes to discerning what is fair use and not. I get that. Though on the flipside, the people who do get strikes on their videos, are p the ones who do deserve those strikes because of what they may have done to deserve them...

-I am going to disagree with those that say that labeling is a bad thing...we need labels because we need to define who and what are we understanding...or arguing for/agaisnt. However, I would use those labels very carefully, as one runs the risk of making hasty generalizations/poisoning the well...

The problem is, people make hasty generalizations all the time.
Shit you not, I was called a crazy feminist cat lady because someone went off with the typical "If women want equality we should be able to hit them" speech and I was pretty much like "Do you go around punching men?"

Like... I'm not even a feminist. I can't even really describe myself as that. But people always, always assume I am, when I preach about basic equality. It NEVER fails. And someone right now is reading this and thinking "If you're for equality, then you're a feminist" but that's missing the point. The word means different things to different people. It can't be defined because all that happens in the attempt is that the conversation derails from what's important, to what it means when we use that label. So what ends up being an easy way to define a person's attitude becomes a means by one opposing party to discredit and dehumanize the person, and the other to claim the person as part of their "movement", when the reality (of what they actually believe) could be anywhere in between.

I uploaded a video of myself playing Star Wars: Battlefront II, and I almost got a strike on my account because LucasArts LTD. flips their shit if their music is used.

I think the people that get strikes on their videos for terms of copyright don't really deserve it, because it really kills creativity. A lot of people that made Youtube Poops got strikes and some even got banned for their use of copyright content, and they don't really deserve that.

Yeah, Youtube Poops aren't really that artful, but it takes quite a bit of creativity to create satire out of something that isn't, and receiving strikes and account bans because of the use of copyrighted material isn't all that fair and restricts creativity.

Do you know you can get a channel ban, or a whole Account ban from Youtube? - Goes without say...

There once was a channel i viewed. After some days they closed his channel. Thats what they mostly do. Never saw someone getting banned by them. Also if they would ban your account Google+ would have to deal with that since they changed that.
