You also need to invert the shading of the grass. Backgrounds don't have outlines and thus working with a light source is a bit more complicated. The way it looks now it implies that the light source is on the bottom of all these hills.Shinbison-Kof wrote:Well, I tried do a normal background, and "appeared" this Bg (IMO seems strange) . Yep, they hurt (nice screen though).
Can you just... use normal colours for once? This is terrible to look at.
I can't because the level theme is candy hills SMB1 styled, and that level is finished yesterday.Emral wrote:Can you just... use normal colours for once? This is terrible to look at.

thanks!Ludwig von Koopa wrote: (nice screen though).
Candy hills doesn't require the whole area to be eyebleed pink. Having a green field with some lollipops scattered around is enough to call it that. NSMBU's Desert used the Sweets theme as well and it didn't have an all-pink setting.andialifbatara wrote: I can't because the level theme is candy hills SMB1 styled, and that level is finished yesterday.
Congrats Emral, you just invented a new color.Emral wrote:Candy hills doesn't require the whole area to be eyebleed pink. I tend to use neologism to convey my opinion or describe something, since it's easier than finding the right words and people will probably understand it.PaperPlayerX wrote: Congrats Emral, you just invented a new color.

Looks like one of the first world levels from Subcon Hearts. The larger bush looks a little weird though, with the big space of black shading, it sort of looks like it got nuked by a Blooper... I would recommend toning down the amount of coins too, it seems a little spammy. Definitely a different sort of level anyway, and it's one of the most memorable level themes for me that came from Subcon Hearts. It would be good to see this completed.
My guess: Valtteri projectGLD4 wrote:A forest level from a secret project. I fixed these cutoffs after taking them (says the absently guy).
