Simply because if you were disqualified because of that, Valtteri would have to disqualify the huge amount of other users that did the same mistake which would decrease the amount of participants by at least 15.

Valtteri, just to clear up the confusion about the music: what does it mean when you can't use music that goes beyond 6 minutes? Does it mean individual music tracks can't be more than 6 minutes long, or does the total length across all the music tracks have to not exceed 6 minutes?

Individual songs cannot exceed 6 minutes. I don't care how many of them you put there. (Except if you put like 10 6-minute songs, then it's a problem.)

Apparently yes, but then I don't even see the point of this rule. Why can I have two 6 minutes song but not one 8 minutes? Whatever, it's Val's job after all. I'm not participating anyway.

it's pointless to have an 8 minute song because there's a 90% chance those extra 4 minutes consist of the song's loop

What I do with custom music is download it off BrawlBRSTMs and shrink it down to about 2:30 using Audacity. That way, I can have high-quality MP3s that are not 30 minutes long.

The restriction is there because people would use 20-minute songs. While I don't want to restrict the contestants too much, I don't want to waste my time shortening extended songs so the TOB download would be so unreasonably big. The only reason a song would be over 6 minutes is that it's extended. Most of the time. Video game song loops don't go beyond that time. I know you could technically submit a level with 21 6-minute songs but that's never happened. You only ever need like three songs at best for your level anyway.

Sounds like that would make sense. Well okay.

I'm not trying to change the rule because I respect it's intention but as castlewars says he uses HIGH QUALITY MP3s. I don't think in light of people doing that you can really be filesize-conscious. It's sorta like eating 6 200 calorie Sundaes you know? It's not actually all that lean in practice.

How fast... I'll try do a level for this. I'm not use my CC8 level on this, I think than Is better do a new.
Well after 2 days, graphics are done, I'll join this ( or try ) and good luck for everyone!

Why shrink it to begin with. I thought you were able to download the original files the guy used to begin with

So no one has really told me why this is called Level Contest 9 and has a picture as "Level Contest 9" if it is really contest number 8?
