Speaking of pruning spam accounts, how about that's something that could get done as well, mostly remove all of the dead and spam accounts to make the member list cleaner and more presentable.

I understand removing spam accounts, but why the dead ones? Regardless if they're dead or not, it's still a real person that rgistered.

If they're legitimate users that's not really a good idea in my opinion.

So, someone decided to DDoS us.

Looks like the attack subsided, though. Sorry for the inconveniece. There wasn't much I could do while it was down except wait for the attack to stop.

This is a site discussion thread, not a "who did it"" thread. The person who DDoSed us is unknown, and we're not going to try and guess who did it.

Yeah, the same thing has happened to me a few times over the last day or so.

What's happening is that some peoples' ISPs still have cached versions of my domain data (where smbxgame.com points to, for example). I don't know why this cached data is being used sporadically, but I believe it expires at max within 48 hours. It's supposed to be a matter of minutes, but that obviously isn't happening.

So, if users are still having trouble ~25 hours from now (I set up the new domain data around 23 hours ago), we'll know something is seriously wrong. But for now, all we can do is wait.

Yeah, I was one of the targeted Members that from my Home it simply won't connect to SMBX.org and the Chatroom what so ever from the same time where the first Issue went on this Board so I pretty much have to wait like 2 Days where it last happened (unknown which hour though) and then it works again. It was weird that this happens but right now if it works like that it doesn't matter anymore. Let's just hope that the site won't gain any issues again.

Ahh, fuack. Anyways, my IP was temp-banned the other day for no reason. I guess that has to do with the spam bots that are joining the chat-room. Damn it, Valtteri! Why did you have to be forced into boot camp...? Maybe masterbros could mod if GhostHawk isn't there, IDK. You're the admin, Joey. It's your choice.

BTW, thanks for un-banning me.

I don't know what happened there.

The DDoS was using lots of different IP adresses, so to stop the DDoS, a lot of IPs were banned. Also, I don't think Valtteri not being there makes much of a difference.

We weren't DDoS'd, either. If that was the case (like a week and a half ago), nobody would be able to access the site. It was just some spam accounts that decided to join.

The IP problems should be fixed now, too.
