I think I did made the best smb2 level in this contest, unless someone else that got higher than me made one too.

13th Place. Pretty far I must say. I just realized how some of the Points are just lowered placed for no reason but meh, I can't tell anyway.

Really, I'm satisfied with my position, because this level is my "worst" level at present. (but, that is not so bad , IMO)
This level has the same theme of the level of MAGlx, but my level is very different in various aspects. unfortunately this level have some strange bugs, I can't fix it because I finished this level in the last day. Good luck the all guy! :)

Why are you doing this anyway. Emral isn't here anymore, and his reviews won't be removed. He got enough hate already, and everyone knows you don't like his reviews. You don't need to slap it into everyone's faces. Nobody gives a fuck.

Here's how I think the rest of the contest will go:

8. Bomber57
7. SuperMario7
6. Darkonius64
5. sezixor
4. Emral
3. Kyo
2. FireLink
1. Sednaiur

I don't know why, but I could really see FireLink making it extremely far.

OH MAN SUPER PAPER MARIO I LOVE IT.
In all seriousness, at first I thought this was gonna be a boring SMB1 level, but damn surprise it's a really clever Castle Bleck type level. I enjoyed it. The boss fight was really interesting and this level reminded me of how much I love Super Paper Mario (and its music). The puzzles were fine. The light block one was clever and the peach one easy. I don't know why you had a "Bowser" path though. An episode, maybe? Anyways... Maybe add coins in your future levels? That's what this one lacked. And I feel that design-wise it wasn't really the best one out there. Maybe you could've taken a bit from SPM Castle Bleck's castle structure into this? Anyways, good job!

Okay, I have to ask: what super-impressive, never-before-done gimmick did this level do to make you think that I made it? I'm not upset or anything, I'm honestly very curious! However, I can tell you right now that if I made that level, this unforgivable error wouldn't have happened:
Spoiler: show
Rather, it would lead to a secret, if not the secret star.

Also, the SMB1 blocks can be seen through the windows and they cover up the torches as they appear. GLuigiX, you should have put the ground and grass above the castle on the same layer as the castle; that way, it would help show that the castle is coming out of the ground (rather than simply phasing through it) as well as fix the graphical issue I pointed out.
Finally, I have a confession to make: I've never played Super Paper Mario (I've only played the N64 Paper Mario), but I can understand that you (Emral) didn't know that.
P.S. Do I sense SPM bias? Eh, I'm probably just overreacting...
bossedit8 wrote:frozed
Random English lesson, "Let this be a lesson to everyone" edition: "freezed" and "frozed" are not words. The word you are looking for is "frozen," like the movie. Why is this so difficult for people to figure out?

True, but I already made a Green-Hill-Zone-based level. Plus, I would have made sure the loops worked.

lol, that was a typo. In my posts I tend to do stupid things like that in my posts. The sentence I just made is a good example of what I do sometimes. I find it annoying too. (BTW yes, I did think the music went very well in it.

Good for you? I thought it was yours because I'm aware you like to make levels heavily based off games not normally in SMBX, like this level was.

Once again, I must have made a pretty stupid typo. I'll correct that sentence right now from this post:

"*The first and third of this level were probably my favorite parts"

Ugh, I even revised my reviews, yet I never noticed stupid typos like these. I'll leave them all in, though, for people to point and laugh at me.

Uhm, Idk, the light block was probably kinda original...

Also yeah, I didn't know about this error until after I sent the level in. I thought the event would hold Mario in his place long enough so the player wouldn't be able to jump on the top of it... Eh whatever.

About the grass thing. Tbh it didn't bother me that much as that I would've fixed it. If I had the ground on top of the castle, it would've seen as if it was underground or something. I wanted it to look like it came out of a paralel dimenstion or something, that's why it flawlessly glides out of the ground :P
I guess I was just too lazy to fix it (like with most part of the level:
see:
- the peach part
- the foyer
- even Mario's part to some extend)
I was just incredibly lazy and didn't want to fix minor stuff like that. Like I said, just imagine the castle comes out of a "parallel dimension" and phases through the ground and the grass or whatever :P

Valtteri, you should not remove all of Emral's reviews just because some average level designers are not satisfied with the score they received. I know you would do it with the goal of having a less-messed up contest, but this WOULD mess up this contest completely. It would even be worse than CC1 in my opinion. Think about the consequences. I'll tell you one small and unbiased guess that might be realized if you actually do it.

-We will likely have two contest winners. You cannot legitimately determine whose win is real and false.
-People that rise a few ranks will be satisfied, but how will those users react that were heavily positively influenced by Emral's reviews and fall down? We had Blueoak and Co complaining - bitching round 1. This is going to be round 2.
-The two lists will constantly be compared.
-Those who were to stubborn to accept an opinion will be rewarded for their rebellion.
-It does nothing but ranking up a few average level designers. The top tier will unlikely see a remarkable change.

Those are some of my predictions. I really don't see how this would have a positive end. It will just cause more drama. And just that.
Blueoak wrote:if emral actually wins

He won't win, but still, might I ask why. It's not like your mediocre level will do anything to it, even with removal. His ratings wouldn't influence his victory. It's not like he's underrating the top levels, because they were actually good.
Imaynotbehere4long wrote:Okay, I have to ask: what super-impressive, never-before-done gimmick did this level do to make you think that I made it? I'm not upset or anything, I'm honestly very curious!

I almost agree to this. Move me behind Sednaiur and put SM7 between him and me, so that I'd be #3 and SM7 #2. Then it would look like how I feel it will end. I have a strong feeling I will end up being #3. There's a long story behind it. But good to see you assume I'll win. It motivates me.

also if you were to look at the list
you'd see even tier 4 goes through quite a few changes
