If you set a Roto-Disc's movement to "Random" it will move to the left in a stuttering fashion. This is a very interesting gimmick, should it not have been used before, that will work well in spooky ghost levels.
That's a really good find. You could definitely make something different out of that. One application that came to my mind was a SMB3 Eerie. It could create a trail similar to the trails normal Boos leave behind in SMB3.
As well as this, I discovered that if you set the Roto-Disc on a Lakitu, the Roto-Disc will always move in the same stuttering way as if you set it on Random, as I described earlier. This happens regardless the direction of the Roto-Disc. The only way to completely stop a Roto-Disc so it stays stationary is to set Don't Move to Yes, and the direction to Random (if you don't do the latter step the disc will move up and down, as described earlier in the thread).

The SMW hint sign is normally restricted to being placed as a friendly NPC, unlike every other NPC in SMBX. The only way to circumvent this in vanilla SMBX is to set the hint sign as the NPC that comes out of a block. If you do this, the sign will not be friendly, and the only interaction that you can perform with it is bouncing on top of it, which does not damage the sign, nor does it play a sound effect, oddly.

If You pick up a snift just as it's about to fire a bullet, It shoots the bullet immediately after you put it down.

This also happens if playerblocktop=0 is set for non-enemy NPCs that have playerblocktop=1 set by default (Mushroom Blocks, Doughnut Blocks, Tank pieces, etc.).

I found some thing,if you play as peach or toad with a fireflower hold a fire ball above your head and switch to Mario or luigi with a player block they will be holding that fire ball.

Will the fireball change colors or stay blue/pink?

It will be the original color.

What is a Roto Disk?

A Roto-Disc is an obstacle in SMB3 (and possibly SML) that glows in a green and orange pattern and is shaped like a circle.
In SMB3 they could only be defeated by stomping on them in statue from (via the tanooki suit).
However, in SMBX, they are undefeatable but for some reason, have their own death effect.

I think the death effect is for when you erase them in the editor.

Actually, the Roto-Disks' effect is the flashing trail they leave behind. I know because I sprite-swapped them once.

Can you swim better while holding something in SMBX? In SMW you can. Also, by placing a shell into a slope, anything that touches it dies, because the game thinks it's moving. A good way to farm lives :D

Not sure if that was a rhetorical question or not, but you cannot swim faster when holding an item in SMBX. The swimming mechanics are more like SMB3 in that regard, like most things in SMBX (aside from the spin jump).

I got an idea to use Perry the talking umbrella

Hello

This is not a question or something like that, a only want to tell about one of my creations

I like perry the talking umbrella from "super princess Peach" very much.
So i looked for a way to use him in SMBX.
than i got e good idea:
i resprited the propeller-block with a really big perry-umbrella (i wanted, that it´s grabbed at the handle by mario and luigi too, so the sprite is 96x96 pix big now)
So i can pick up perry in some of my levels and glide around with him.
In super princess peach he makes some jellyfish-like moves while gliding through the air with peach.
The propeller-block has got a 4-steps-animation.
so i also was able to recreate perrys move while gliding.
and i changet the sprite-typ to left and right direction to make him look into flying direction.

It means I combined the two threads since the "I got an idea to use Perry the talking umbrella" thread should've not been a thread, it should've just been posted on this thread. It's self explanatory really.

If you go to the npc files, there's some dummy npcs. I don't know much detail, but h2(name i forgot) has a thread on it.

Also if you are a character who can spinjump, and you spinjump into a block that changes you to someone who can't spinjump, and you fall on a spiny or any spin jump immune enemy, you will still be spin jumping.
