I can change it, but there are A LOT of rocks in the tiles.Emral wrote:I'm aware of the shrine. It just looks like one.Blue Greed wrote:They rocks are made shiny on purpose, almost given a metally look. I can fix the outlines but idk if I should fix the gold, it looks good that way.Emral wrote:I'm not a fan of using white on tilesets unless it's reasoned. Rock can't be that shiny.
I think you should stick to one kind of outline aswell, because the tileset itself is kept in a SMW-ish look with the japanese shrine and gold ore in a SMB2 or SMB1 look.
Also that is a mineshaft, not a japanese shrine.
Also, why would you want to give a rough surface like a rock's polished shading?
Same goes for the gold. You won't find polished gold in caves.

Global fill on the white colour?Blue Greed wrote: I can change it, but there are A LOT of rocks in the tiles.

looks better. Don't wanna post tons of nitpicks now as it'd be faster if I just ripped it and changed it myself and those aren't even worth fixing imo right now. I'd like you to make some slopes and stuff ;DBlue Greed wrote:Update!
Edit: I'd love some critique right now.
No need to rip, I already have it all converted to smbx already. I plan to release it later. I can make slopes, too, but I need someone to make a screenshot for me so I can later. I can send the converted graphics if needed.Emral wrote:looks better. Don't triple post, Blue Greed.Blue Greed wrote:So can I ask someone to make a screenshot of every tile in my tileset? There is no need for ripping, I have everything ripped already, I can send a link.
Apologies for the late reply.Natsu wrote:Really nice tileset StrikeForcer. Also, I suppose that grey thing is supposed to be a stone fence, am I right?
By the way, I'd suggest you to don't use the ice block's palette for your tileset, it just doesn't look really well.
By the time I made that post I found myself not too fond on the idea of using the same palette. But now I can't really say I haven't changed my opinion.StrikeForcer wrote:And why using the vanilla SMB3 ice block pallete is unfitting for a cold/icy/snowy world theme eh?Natsu wrote:Really nice tileset StrikeForcer. Nice update man, it looks gorgeous. I find the ice tileset's pattern somewhat weird though, wouldn't be better to use the same as the ice cube's instead? Again, biased opinion.StrikeForcer wrote:BTW, made some updates: http://s11.postimg.org/jl433j74z/absolute_zero_rc1.png
I understand the ice tileset on the right is weird since its my first attempt of making a water frozen over tileset that has transperancy while having those diagonal patterns seen in other ice tilesets.Natsu wrote:By the time I made that post I found myself not too fond on the idea of using the same palette. There might be too much detail/not enough contrast to make it blend in with anything.Shinbison-Kof wrote:@StrikerForcer, Your tilesets are excellent, god job

This is my simple castle tileset (strange color). XD
I think he means you made it look too real and that the fill has to have colors that don't blend too much.Shinbison-Kof wrote:Sorry, I not understand what you says about tileset. You mean that the tileset does not fit in the smbx? =)
I'm saying it might look out of place if you're using it in conjunction with wrong tiles/backgrounds/enemies. I doubt this'll look good next to any vanilla SMBX tile.Shinbison-Kof wrote:Sorry, I not understand what you says about tileset. You mean that the tileset does not fit in the smbx? =)
