figured out how mario can keep a star in that smw container box
he could get an item called a star chest which lets mario drops stars on himself , it would be a one use item till he gets another one
There a type of question block already in base game that automatically puts it's contents into the reserve box.

Help! I can't start the Mario challenge! I've tried:
1. Going through the pipe (Reset character)
2. Jumping off (Rebound)
And there is nothing else to do! As I said, HELP ME!!!
EDIT 1
There's nothing in the pause menu either.
EDIT 2
Quitting and entering a save file does nothing as well

This sounds like you're trying to play Mario Challenge from the editor, but if not, I would appreciate more information, such as what episodes you have installed.

I have installed 0 episodes by myself
I am NOT trying to run from the editor
P.S. Here's an image of what I encountered
THE EDITOR IS A BACKGROUND APP
P.P.S. I made a hub world please tell me how to send it to you.
P.P.P.S Can I have LUIGI as my character instead of a shy guy?

-When the level is cleared during a Mario Challenge, the player is taken to a black void on a map; unable to do anything.
I have opened the map in the editor, and that is how it's made; just a black void with a start level. No idea why, maybe Mario Challenge is just hard-coded to not visit the map, but what you did caused that hard code to break.

Uh... new characters would have to be coded over an existing base character anyway, so yes this is absolutely possible to do over Mario. It's very complicated of course, but possible.

Is the patch included with the beta4 download or is it seperate? I still need to download Beta4. Wanted to wait for bugs/issues to be fixed.

Patch's out btw! Check the downloads page in the first post! Available as a full download as well as a drag-and-drop archive update for existing installations. The changelog has also been updated.
It runs. It's super slow, but it runs. Ah, well, lolz
Sounds like you need a new laptop. Mine was $250 from Wal-Mart back in 2013 and has some minor issues but mostly runs smbx great.

In case you weren't able to see it because the website shows up wrong for you, here's what your options are when downloading.

The patch has been included in the main download when it came out. Everyone who installed Beta4
before needs to download the patch itself and insert it.

I use a PS4 controller and I can no longer use the touchpad button, which worked fine in previous versions (button 13). The presses won't register either in the controller settings menu or in the game. I generally use it for the drop item button.
I'm getting a strange controller issue, as well. The Up and Down buttons on the D-pad don't register, whereas the Left button registers as Up and the Right button registers as Down. Everything worked fine from 1.3 through the PAL version.
Is there a Beta 4 file I can edit to register the proper D-pad buttons? Or is there a file from my PAL version (or even 1.3) that I can replace in the Beta 4 directory to swap over the working control scheme from it?

If I could get a graphics card for this 2008 DELL desktop, I could maybe improve upon the performance, but all the same, I do need a new computer. Problem: I have no reliable method of getting extra money short of (redacted for NSFW reasons), and on disability, it's all gone to rent and maybe food at the beginning of the month.

Seems Starman's music doesn't stop when player dies or exits level.
Btw is there a way to mute it or stop starman effect?
Big shroom's music is also continues after finishing the level.

Although the editor is superior to the original, its disappointing that it doesn't run without constant massive lag spikes on an average cpu.

Nice that actually reduced the lag significantly, I may continue my work. Have you encountered the controller cutting in and out between levels yet?
