Buried Alive is from an old creepypasta: an allegedly dummied-out trainer with monstrous pokemon, ate the player character if you lose, etc etc etc. That kind of cliche nonsense.
I, for one, am 100% down with making jokes out of dumb grimdark horrorfics like this. Let's see an SMBX level with a bumbling, affable take on Sonic.exe or BEN or something.

Alright peeps. I'm happy to see there being so much enthusiasm for this project. I just had a talk with my good chap Blueoak and we had the idea that it would be cool to have new sprites for all trainers. However, since I can't make the graphics for everyone, as that would take ages and I am not that confident in my graphic design skills, it's your guys' turn to shine now.

Pick a trainer class from this list that has appeared in at least one major Pokémon game* and make a new sprite for them in the style of Gen 4/5 (the DS games). If it looks good, we will consider using it in the game. This way, we will have new and refreshing sprites for hopefully everyone and the entire community gets to participate in the making of the game. I will put up a list with all the trainer classes shortly and add who is making what sprite, so everyone doesn't make the same sprite (I can already see ten people making a new ace trainer sprite. Please don't do that.)

Are you looking for overworld sprites, battle sprites, or both?

Mainly battle sprites but it would be nice if you also provided the overworld sprites, that would be nice. If not, it's no biggie though.

Modeled the overworld sprites after the ones in DPP/HGSS based on clarification from Marina on Discord, and since I'm still the only scientist (as far as I'm aware) I went ahead and just based bits on myself
The design can definitely be tweaked if need be... and looking at it now I just realized the hat and hair combo reminds me way too much of N so it probably is going to be changed anyway.

I am bad with Sprites, but I was like to take a crack at the bird keepers and Sky Trainers.

Rocky's sprites make me feel bad for trying a fairy tale girl
