PROX wrote:I just downloaded the .exe and I really like the opening screen. Why didn't you use that title font in the first page of your thread? It looks loads better than the one you showed lol. Also the hype is real!
The one I used is from around 4 and a half years ago, while the one on the opening screen is some months old. That is the reason I did not use it. :-P
But I will make a new banner with the new font, replacing the old rubbish font.
Either tomorrow or monday will be the release of the beta. I still need to betatest 1 world and then setup the beta for release. ^^

You would see a mess of missing graphics, mostly. The worldmap would be unviewable aswell as most of the levels. I replaced almost all default graphics of SMBX with my custom ones, so the loading time is as small as possible during levels. Also, you would not have much fun listening to the music, as I replaced most of the default music and sound, too. Oh, and almost all hardcoded graphics, aswell as almost all dummy blocks, BGOs, tiles, paths, etc. :-P
Yes, I highly recommend against using it without the custom .exe. Really. ^^

When this project is done, building levels-wise, I will adjust it to SMBX2, but I will never convert it to 1.4 for many reasons. My episode is build quite closely around SMBX 1.3's physics and setup, so I cannot do that anyways, as SMBX 1.4 breaks too much of it. I am sorry for that inconvenience.
MECHDRAGON777 wrote:Are the custom songs in the episode folder or the music folder?
It is both. The soundtracks used in some more levels, are in the default music folder, while the ones used only in one or two levels, are placed in the episode folder. This way I can have two custom musics in the same section, in SMBX 1.3.

Also what is a custom .exe and why?
Sorry for not answering you earlier, but your post was not shown to me before. In case of SMBX, I made it a custom .exe by editing hardcoded text and graphics in it, that cannot be altered by simply replacing the graphics in any folder. This way I can give the Kuribou's Shoe, the Podoboo's Shoe, or the Lakitu's Shoe a different look (as you cannot replace these graphics as simple as Yoshie's sprites). Also, the HUD of the game, the worldmap boarder, Yoshie's tongue, the different fonts, etc also look different in my custom .exe of SMBX.
