After final playing the game, I must say that the ranked play is quite stupid. I get one knockout and then get dominated by aero guns. First off, is the aero guns amiibo bonuses and second off please help. I'm at c- and it would be pretty swell if someone could help me out.

You should be able to buy the Aerospray MG normally once you rach a certain level, and you need to beat the 3rd/4th (not sure) Boss in the Single Player to unlock the Aerospray RG. You definitely don't need amiibo, Source: I don't own any of the amiibo. The only weapons you unlock are variations on the Splattershot, Roller and Splat Charger.
Also from what I can tell the Aerospray RG and Splattershot Jr. seem to be the best weapons for Ranked, mostly bc of their Specials.

I've been playing a lot of ranked recently, and I think that the Splattershot Pro and .56 Gal are the best weapons. Splattershot Pro has insane DPS (I saw a graph once that showed that it has the highest damage per second of all weapons) and the fact that it has Inkstrike really allows its wielder to turn the tides of battle. That said, I *have* fallen in love with the .56 Gal. I really prefer it to the .92 Gal due to its increased fire rate, allowing me to stand up to quicker guns like the aforementioned Splattershot Pro. It's not as easily punishable. I also love its sub-weapon, the ink wall thing. At first I hated it, but I soon realized that I didn't know how to properly utilize it. I face a chokepoint or a place where the enemy team is very concentrated, throw the ink wall, quickly recharge, and enjoy my invulnerability. When properly used, it allows you to decimate all enemy players you can see, especially on maps like Port Mackerel where there are lots of narrow corridors. Granted, it does have a large ink cost, but that's nothing that a few "Ink Saver (Sub)" buffs can't fix.
This is just my opinion, though, and just my strategy that I've found useful in ranked. Using it, I find myself frequently getting the greatest amount of kills between both teams, sometimes upwards of 20. It might be specifically good for my playstyle, though, and others might find other strategies better.

First time I actually watched Splatoon gameplay was for the Nintendo Championship at E3. Needless to say it looks really fun overall and I'd love to have it. If only I had a Wii U...

The thing about the Wii U is that it doesn't have that many games at all, but the games that it does have are superb. Counting next year's releases, the library includes Smash 4, MK8, Super Mario 3D World, Splatoon (of course), Bayonetta (if you're into that), Yoshi's Wooly World, Starfox U, and Zelda U. Not all that many games, but what the Wii U does have that I think that other consoles lack is polished, beautiful games. You could always buy a refurbished Wii U and then sell it when the NX comes out if you have the money. Splatoon is a great purchase though, I can tell you that. The best part about it is that the gameplay shown at the NWC was Turf War mode, which generally isn't as fast-paced and fun as Splat Zones, the mode used for ranked games.

You forgot Super Mario Maker.
I haven't played much Splatoon recently mainly because I just...got bored with it.
Also, for anyone thinking 100%ing the story mode will give you a cool reward...it won't. Trust me, after beating the final boss, I took an hour or two to find the Sunken Scrolls I had missed, and gained absolutely jack shit from doing so. Am I missing something?

Whoops, I did. Sorry.
Yeah, I can see how that would happen. The lack of modes is really annoying, and I couldn't finish singleplayer because it was so boring. I still enjoy playing online ranked matches, but the focus on multiplayer is really hit-or-miss. If you don't like Turf War or Splat Zones, too bad. Although in August Ninty's releasing a patch with new gamemodes, including a payload-type game.

Yeah, it's pretty hype. There are also going to be custom games (aka you and 7 friends play a private match) and team matchmaking (so you and your pro eSports friends can team up and destroy some five year old's spirit). Hopefully these new matchmaking modes can lead to the development of a competitive scene that goes beyond being the best at the solo queue. I'd watch a Splatoon tourney with professional teams in a heartbeat.

I finally got to the C+ Limbo. I use a Splatterscope and a Tentatek Splattershot (It feels nice to kill with it), and I just have 1 single problem with my games. I usually use my sniper. My team (who usually uses short range weapons) think that they are snipers. We lose the match, and I get De-Ranked. I was at B+ at one point as well, so this just hurts. Also fuck Aerospray users I bet half of them can't use another gosh darn gun.

I use(d) the Aerospray MG mainly because I fucking love seekers. Since most maps aren't very huge, they're very good for clearing thin paths across the map, possibly even the ENTIRE map. I clear a long path with the seekers, then go down the new path, which pretty much regenerates my ink again, and repeat.
The Kraken Roller is also pretty good, but I can't seem to get the hang of the actual kraken.

I'm also in C+ Limbo. Really tough stuff, but even tougher if you're a sniper. This is because the primary way to get out of C+ is to carry your team in kills and captures, because the rest of your team is probably crap. Splatterscope is a support class, though, so it's harder to carry the team both in kills and in captures. My advice is that you go Splattershot Pro (which is like the Tentatek Splattershot, but with Inkstrike and a higher DPS) until you get to a rank where you think that your teammates are good enough to actually help and not rely on you the entire game. But yeah, Ranked isn't easy for snipers.

On a completely unrealted note, GameChops released their Splatoon remix album, and oh man is it good! My favorite track is probably Watching Ink Dry!, it expands on the track so well it's incredible. I also really like Stay Fresh! for the same reason, but the whole album is ink-redible imo. And the best thing? It's name-your-price, so you can get it for free, although I'd highly recommend you give the creators some money because it's really great!

You're right -- that album is really damn good. I think I might've heard of GameChops before, but I'll check out more of their work.

Yeah, but that's the problem I have with these people. Everyone uses that gosh darn strategy and it feels like I'm fighting the same enemy every match. All I have to do is shoot the seeker trail, and reveal the gunner and shoot them. It's so boring...

It's not like I follow the ENTIRE path. I realize I'd be easily tracked down and so I stray from my own path. Even then, it's not much of an issue anyways because 99% of the time I die to unavoidable surprise roller attacks.
