Now that is a strange coin. I don't seem to get what is its front face.
Also, that background looks cool, but could use some more detail on the sand/snow? It looks a bit bland in my opinion. Getting into the level general design there's not much that hasn't been seen in your Steins;Lab level which by the way was awesome. ;)

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that it is kinda strange, seems to resemble a yoshi face on closer inspection.

I was intentionally trying to use as few colours as possible, and this bg is just everything I could dish out in the 1 hour I worked on it. Adding ruins could've worked, but I'll leave that to a different bg.

Well, if you plan to use as less colors as possible you could add some tiny patterns to the sand/snow (I still don't know what it is =P) making it a little bit wavy or something.

The hill without an outline is a default graphic in SMBX 1.3.0.1 so there's nothing fireflowerhour can do about it.

I just don't know why the outline was unnecessarily removed on this "update".

@bossedit8: I think you should tone up the contrast on those castle blocks. Other than that it looks cool, like all your recent Touhou levels.
