Idk I see your point but I mean if smbx is still being updated with more than episodes it makes sense to make them official IMO

If he comes back Joey will step down as founder and give him the throne.Blck_Guy wrote:Joey wrote:I also, you know, lead this community. Redigit doesn't. If he ever wants to come back, great, but at this point SMBX as a program is in the staff's hands.
And forever will be... I mean by far I can see, I think he will never be coming back. And if he does, well then grate!

JK, but it would be nice if he came back to visit his fans once in a while.
I dunno how the hell that works but okay.Joey wrote:I also, you know, lead this community. Redigit doesn't. If he ever wants to come back, great, but at this point SMBX as a program is in the staff's hands.
You may think of it that way but you were not the one who created the engine.Joey wrote:I also, you know, lead this community. Redigit doesn't. If he ever wants to come back, great, but at this point SMBX as a program is in the staff's hands.
Not far off from what I would do, actually.Magna wrote:If he comes back Joey will step down as founder and give him the throne.

What about that is hard to understand?XerX wrote: I dunno how the hell that works but okay.
I never said I created SMBX. I said it's in our hands.Magna wrote:You may think of it that way but you were not the one who created the engine.
I just cannot wrap my head around how you can suddenly call editing a game via hex editor, and changing some graphics, an actual update, and an official one at that. The game shouldn't be receiving any more updates. It should just be left alone.Joey wrote:What about that is hard to understand?XerX wrote: I dunno how the hell that works but okay.

I get that this is the biggest SMBX community right now, but that doesn't mean you get to title everything official. That doesn't really make any sense really. Red dropped the project, so it should be left as such. The official forums are gone, and it should be left that way. All of this, this is all 'fan made'. Nothing here is 'official'.
Yes actually.Joey wrote:Except, what about this isn't official? The fact that it isn't being done by Redigit?
Even though I disagree with this regardless, Redigit did tell me that if he ever needed to announce something about SMBX, he'd make an account here.Magna wrote:Yes actually.Joey wrote:Except, what about this isn't official? The fact that it isn't being done by Redigit?
Although some of the Level Designers have collaborated with Redigit with making Official SMBX episodes, and any "official" episodes made by these guys today count in my book, but creating a site by a fan and making it nearly identical to the original site doesn't exactly give you the right to calling this the "Official SMBX Forum" even if it is the biggest one in existence.

If you can personally get the actual Redigit to come here and state all of this is official, then that's great. Good on you. Congrats. Until then, it isn't.Joey wrote:Even though I disagree with this regardless, Redigit did tell me that if he ever needed to announce something about SMBX, he'd make an account here.Magna wrote:Yes actually.Joey wrote:Except, what about this isn't official? Nintendo doesnt care about the existence of a fangame as long as there's no money involved.
