Idk I see your point but I mean if smbx is still being updated with more than episodes it makes sense to make them official IMO

I also, you know, lead this community. Redigit doesn't. If he ever wants to come back, great, but at this point SMBX as a program is in the staff's hands.

And forever will be... I mean by far I can see, I think he will never be coming back. And if he does, well then grate!

If he comes back Joey will step down as founder and give him the throne.

JK, but it would be nice if he came back to visit his fans once in a while.

*chuckles* unlikely :) But most likely give him admin or GM rights if he wanted them.

Yeah it would, but like I said, by far I do doubt it he will come back. Just sometimes how Circle-Of Life works....

You may think of it that way but you were not the one who created the engine.

Not far off from what I would do, actually.

What about that is hard to understand?

I never said I created SMBX. I said it's in our hands.

I just cannot wrap my head around how you can suddenly call editing a game via hex editor, and changing some graphics, an actual update, and an official one at that. The game shouldn't be receiving any more updates. It should just be left alone.

I get that this is the biggest SMBX community right now, but that doesn't mean you get to title everything official. That doesn't really make any sense really. Red dropped the project, so it should be left as such. The official forums are gone, and it should be left that way. All of this, this is all 'fan made'. Nothing here is 'official'.

Yeah, actually. If I re-read Joey's post. How the hell can it be "SMBX is in the staff's hands."? Dafuq?! If redigit, aka, Andrew Spinks, still have the source code, which I'm doubting it, would still be in his hands. All you guys did is update the music quality and the GFX's. Nothing special. :/

Except, what about this isn't official? The fact that it isn't being done by Redigit?

How is changing graphics and modifying the web address and version number official? Also, this forum is just a fan site dedicated to SMBX. There is nothing about it that is official. Like I said, the official forums were closed down years ago.

Yes actually.

Although some of the Level Designers have collaborated with Redigit with making Official SMBX episodes, and any "official" episodes made by these guys today count in my book, but creating a site by a fan and making it nearly identical to the original site doesn't exactly give you the right to calling this the "Official SMBX Forum" even if it is the biggest one in existence.

Well, if Redigit, created a forum randomly out-of-nowhere he could easily call it "Official SMBX Forum".

Even though I disagree with this regardless, Redigit did tell me that if he ever needed to announce something about SMBX, he'd make an account here.

And will he ever?! I mean come on, the guy got sued by Nintendo, I don't think he will try updating the game again at-risk. Very big risk!

If you can personally get the actual Redigit to come here and state all of this is official, then that's great. Good on you. Congrats. Until then, it isn't.

The "sued by Nintendo" thing isn't 100% what you think, its because he had ads on SMB.org and was making money off of it

Nintendo doesnt care about the existence of a fangame as long as there's no money involved.

If that's true.... Then the question is: Why did he stop making Super Mario Brothers X?
