I don't think so. I mean lots of people can't use LunaDLL.

Let me clear two things up.

First off, unfortunately the release of 1.3.0.2 will not make any difference. The exe is infected by LunaDLL (which is the only way to get it working correctly) and some antivirus programs think infected means it's a virus, and keep you from starting the exe. An update of SMBX will NOT change anything. So give your hopes up on getting LunaDLL without configuring your antivirus.

And that's where we get to the second point. Regardless of the circumstances, without much trouble you can ALWAYS get it to work. So the excuse "it doesn't work for me" isn't really a good point. If you can start the exe but LunaDLL doesn't work, you did something wrong. It's not LunaDLL's fault at that point. If you get a message from your antivirus and/or can't open SMBX, it means LunaDLL is working. You just have to figure out how to make an exception for it so your antivirus doesn't keep you from starting the program. Temporarily disabling it will work just as fine, but constantly disabling it will get tedious after a while. And if you don't know how to configure your antivirus, Google is there for you.

I configured my antivirus. I installed it. The demo counter shows up. However, none of the unique LunaDLL features work. I installed a few different things to see if they work, but they don't, regardless of the demo counter being there or not.

Then go to the LunaDLL thread, ask erikson, give a few details, and if nothing works, you can try uploading your exe and the folder with the lunadll.txt file to see if others would encounter the same issue.

Main point is, people don't actually want to learn how to use LunaDLL even if Luna.txt has been created.
so either way not many people here will use lunadll.

btw i use lunadll lol.

There is a problem with the code, of course. If you have problems with that, just ask what's wrong and what's you'd like to do with that code.

You know I already asked right? I got no answer.

I'm glad one LunaDLL supporter is actually taking a step forward instead of saying something that tends to indirectly insult those against it.

Hell, people, what the hell will LunaDLL do? Kyo has proven that "it doesn't work" isn't a viable excuse to disallow it from CC9. Not knowing how to use it or being "too lazy" shouldn't even count as an excuse. Although most of the community doesn't use it, a good fraction of our users do and we shouldn't be so stubborn.

LunaDLL is being used and there's a ton of great gimmicks we can use with it. It's about time we embraced LunaDLL.

It works fine for me, it's flat-out does not work for me. I already made the exception in the antivirus, I toggled demo counter, it flat-out didn't even apply anything but a custom graphic. For all of you saying I didn't install it properly. It DOESNT EVEN WORK.

Have you tried playing a level that already has some lunadll stuff in it? I'd imagine you would have before stating that it didn't work, but I might as well check.

I think LunaDll is fine. It's just that antiviruses think it'll attack your computer.

You know just to point this out this might be why most of us aren't on board with including it in a new minor update of SMBX.

I seem to recall someone saying if the exe was installed it wouldn't do that.

KoolKat, it is not working for a reason. Before blaming LunaDLL for failing to work, perhaps you should; as HenryRichard said; try a level that does use LunaDLL and it's official that the commands are working in it. Or, as I said, you upload your code and/or level so we can see why it's not working. But if toggledemocounter works, you don't have a reason to object it, do you?

FanOfSMBX, while I doubt it, there might be a little hope it works like this. A non-luna user should try it whose antivirus blocks the uninstalled exe should try it

But anyway, I have another idea for CC9 and LunaDLL.

Tournament judges should always be competent users, and a competent user should be capable of getting LunaDLL work. So I'd say, we are going to allow LunaDLL, but those levels that used it, are optional in ToB7. Does that sound alright?

I installed the Poison Lotus. The only difference is the texture and that the fireballs show 2 frames at once. I installed it exactly how everyone else did, it simply does not work.

I'd like to address Valtteri's reason to not allow lunadll
"It's too complicated"
In what way? There's even an app that makes txt files after you click on clearly labelled buttons. I don't think there is literally any way to make it easier outside of platgenwohl having lunadll support in its actual editor, and that's not guaranteed to happen.
Even if that wasn't so, people have had since about March to familiarize themselves with it. They don't want to? Fine by me, but that shouldn't affect the 5 of us who like it.
I do agree with Kyo's concern about the "lunadll floor". People shouldn't have to *install* lunadll if they don't want to just to play episodes.

LunaDLL is still a complicated feature for most people and this is now finalized to the current contest! And even know we have a simplified version of it, it still give it a fact that it isn't allowed on the current contest event! Now we have to deal with it anyway!

Also the fact is that SMBX 1.3.0.2 can be a rumor of it. :(

Hi, concerning the part of PGE having lunadll support...
The internal editor is planned to have a LunaDLL IDE which will be available as a text editor and script constructor as per Darkchaox100's request ;-)

As for the PGE engine, an internal scripting system will be created for it. This will have an interpreter of the SAME language which LunaDLL uses, along with also supporting LUA scripting.
