One Piece is my favourite and honestly I cried during just about every major arc.
I also watched Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z and I really enjoyed those but GT was just a joke.
Death Note and Lovely Complex are also my favourites <3

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a new anime because everyone seems to be watching it. A friend of mine told me about it so I jumped on the bandwagon.

For me, it's probably One Piece. It's been really good lately.

I am very disappointed in the severe lack of Toradora, Log Horizon and K-On (That's my list by the way)
I had only gotten back into anime lately, so the list is really small, but I assure you, the first two get a 10/10, and K-On gets a 9.5. They're very welly written (gives SAO an evil glare) and are all around great. Toradora, a romance, has some of the best emotional moments of all time (I could go on all day about them), and it's characters are so real that I just can't even compare it to anything else. Log Horizon has the same premise of Sword Art Online (although with a weaker beginning), but it takes it in a totally different (and not terribly written) direction. It's very dialogue-centric, but it's story is just amazing. K-On is a nearly perfect slice of life show. It's also really funny (which is why my profile picture is of Yui after eating Mugi-chan's eyebrows that are actually pickles.)

I liked some of the things you mentioned. I thought K-On was good, but it's a bit far on my list in terms my favorites. It's still great, though. I've actually watched Toradora recently and it is also awesome. (When I saw that you mentioned it, I was a little hesitant to read it because I was worried I would get spoiled) but luckily you didn't mention any of those. I didn't really like it much at first mostly because I thought Ami was annoying but that's all changed. I haven't seen Log Horizon yet, but it's been on my Anime List for a while.
I would highly recommend you to watch Non Non Biyori. If you liked K-On then you will almost certainly like it as well. It's similar to it in just about every way (except that Non Non Biyori isn't related to music).

K-On is good, but nothing amazing. The second season started to get really boring sometimes, because it felt like it was always the same. Toradora was great though, still not excellent enough to beat masterpieces like Steins;Gate or FMAB. And I still want to watch Log Horizon.

I always like the Code Lyoko episode where Jeremy designs a program called "the Marabusa" and X.A.N.A calls truce, just this once

Code Lyoko is an anime, since it uses animation and cartoon-like style of the episodes.
Furthermore: just google it
Code lyoko and it tells you its an anime

Kyo's right, it is not an anime. Code Lyoko was made in France. Everything anime is made in Japan. Just because it has a similar style to anime doesn't mean it is one. It has to be made in Japan.
