No. That won't happen. LunaDLL is not allowed in contests for many reasons. The reason given is that people who know how to use it will be at an advantage, but I suspect the real, technical reason is because some of the judges don't have LunaDLL. How are they going to judge the levels that have been using LunaDLL? What if ALL the levels used LunaDLL, and none of the judges had it? Would they be unable to review the levels?

I think you should read the entire post. A standalone statement sometimes doesn't say enough.

TIME TO GET NEW JUDGES
Seriously, the only reason that it won't work is because people don't know how to make an exception in their antivirus. It can't be that hard (though I don't have a antivirus, so I don't know for sure).

Besides, they can just google for the answer. The only reason why they would refuse to do it because they don't feel like, or harshly said, too lazy. I don't think that's a good reason to disallow LunaDLL for everyone, though. We should all make that step forwards even if it means to spend two minutes with our AntiVirus for once.

I find the discussions over not being able to "install" LunaDLL to be wierd; all I had to do was download the new EXE + LunaDLL directly from its topic (click "download"), (re)place them in my SMBX base folder, and it works for me. I never had to download any sort of installer.
If you're trying to test LunaDLL by making your own codes, maybe you aren't typing them correctly. I recommend downloading a level that explicitly uses LunaDLL and seeing if the features work in that level. If they don't, then I'll calmly back away and admit I was wrong.

Getting back on-topic, I think we should start having set dates for future contest. Of course that takes away the surprise, but it will get us way more organized and put an end to the endlessly coming "when will the next contest start?" questions. I'd personally recommed to start one by the day of the beginning of a new season. That way it isn't even necessary to say the date each time because the date for the beginning of, say, even cc20 is already set.

The fact is that some users (like me) installed LunaDLL properly, and it doesn't work regardless. I don't get any random crashes or anything of the sort, but LunaDLL simply does not work. I tried to install the Poison Lotus, and it worked exactly like a normal Fire Lotus, after installing LunaDLL twice.
It's not a problem with my antivirus, it simply does not work.

Yeah, I like that idea, Kyo. Starting a contest at the beginning on each season would make them regular and space them out perfectly imo.
About LunaDLL, I haven't bothered downloading it yet and I don't know much about it due to my recent inactivity. I don't that it would require LunaDLL to play a level that uses it (right...?), so in that case, I wouldn't really mind if it was allowed in this contest. Just to be honest, I'd rather it not be allowed just because I'm not gonna use it and it will put me at a slight disadvantage in the next contest. But I do think that, if what I said above is true, it should be perfectly fair to use so again I wouldn't mind if it was allowed.

Valtteri has said on the IRC that there'll be one contest each season.

It does work. Maybe you don't have:
-The new SMBX.exe;
-the .txt file called lunadll into the level's folder;
Or maybe the level's name =/= the folder's name.
And also how Luna.DLL is an advantage?

Type "toggledemocounter" while playing as if it was a cheat code. If nothing pops up, you did something wrong during installation.

Good news. Does that apply for CC9 as well? In that case, the contest would start in like, 23 days or so.

That's because your antivirus is blocking it.

No, I would have known if my antivirus blocked it. I could download LunaDLL perfectly, I could put it in my SMBX folder, but every time I tried to run SMBX, it gave me a very long error message speaking gibberish so I was forced to remove it and then SMBX worked fine again. But I know it was just because I was doing something wrong with where it was located and how I was using it.

Maybe you could take a screenshot of it and show it since leif_erikson would know the problem then.

I will try that.
Also Christian I installed both of those.
