I misworded my post there, let me rephrase.

The dimensions are 32x32, yes, but each pixel is technically 2x2 instead of 1x1 giving the effect of the graphic's dimensions being 16x16. They were 16x16 graphics once, just resized by 200%.

Generally most SMBX graphics use 2x2 pixels to make up a graphic, here you used 1x1 pixels to make a graphic effect as if you just applied a very simple filter to the graphic, in this case I would honestly assume you did. 1x1 does not blend well with 2x2, and thus meaning that these graphics simply can not go with anything else.
