The problem is, illias300 was rather nice to me, and he didn't really seem to deserve a harsh punishment. I'd be sort of a crummy friend to not stick up for him right?
A real friend doesn't stick up for you for the sake of your friendship. A real friend tells you what you did wrong and how you can improve.
Im preety sure bad english isnt something to be punished upon.
Thats like banning a foreign guy over his bad english. And even if you he wasnt foreign bad english should be corrected not punished.
The forum rules state that your grammar has to be legible. Instead of blindly defending him, FoS could've tried to help him improve his posts.

So your saying Fanof should of taught him how to use proper english, im preety sure Bossedit sometimes makes english mistakes but he doesnt get heat from it.
Guys im saying that Bad english shouldnt be permanant ban worthy its a bit too harsh of a punishment.
And if Fanof feels like that too then he's free to express it.

I didn't really see any problem. On knuxforums at least now, his grammar seems to be legible.

Kinda off topic but:

Now I'm curious, was bad grammar REALLY the reason why illias3000 was banned? Because there are MANY people here who could improve on their grammar, I mean, if Joey really banned illias3000 because of his grammar, why are all these other users still here? Unless there are other reasons why illias got banned, that is.

Don't make one word posts please, and review the board rules before posting.

illias3000 was banned because his English was terrible and he didn't follow common posting habits.

PERMA banned?

Okay, I can step in for a moment.

We should be changing this, but it'll still be like, pretty long stretches of bans for doing crap like that. So don't get your hopes up too much.

Those both are pretty solid reasons to get banned anyway, so are you going to ask for a compromise and take the perma ban and have it go down to like, a week or 2? Because if a temp ban does not get people to think, then, you know, more temp bans can only do so much.

Anyway, back on the main topic here, FanofSMBX, why do you question everything that happens on this forum?

That sounds WAY better! My main issue was that it was a PERMANENT ban.
I question everything because I find it questionable. What else can I say?

That's a terrible quality and you know it.

That pretty much means no one can tell you something without you having to make them take longer than a couple seconds to explain it.

The main issue and question you guys seem to solely avoid is the unnecessary permanent banning.

1. It looks kinda unprofessional, but bad English just does not strike me as permaban worthy.
2. And your solution is?

Way to read.

You guys just keep on talking about that. I'll be busy doing better things with my time.

These kinds of posts are obnoxious because all they do is get on the staff's dick for the smallest issues.

Yes.

Having proper English is part of the forum rules.

At this point it doesn't surprise me at all how much do the staff expect from the userbase.

I'm not even gonna lie here, but say something Off-Topic for a moment, I do get somewhat annoyed by people with improper English knowledge, even though I also find writing English posts somewhat difficult. People with improper English just show how desperate they are of being here; though the possibility of they trying to dick on the staff using the "my english no well" excuse isn't null. I've met many people while being a GMod that came to the forums just to dick around and used their "lack of proper English knowledge" as a excuse to get out unpunished from what they have done. This is a pretty common situation, and the staff isn't up for this kind of situations.

Even though you guys should know about this to this point, being on this forum isn't a right, but a privilege. Joey said so many times. In order to be here you need to follow the rules. Following the rules is essential to stay on these forums. From that point, getting along the rest is important too, as your behavior towards them may complicate a lot, overall your own stay, and furthermore, your own reactions to these complications. Now, if I had to put it in a simplest and understandable way, what I'm saying is that your behavior shall change the way you react to everything, rising the probabilities of you breaking one of the basic rules.

For me, discretion is everything. Once I realize there's nothing more I can say, or that I see that I was wrong all the time, I just drop it right there. Because besides I was doing something for a person I care, I would do no good if I keep doing so, just alter my own behavior. Nothing more.

Now, as for FanofSMBX's "questioning" behavior, you seem to be a little "distrustful" here. It's reasonable considering I had issues trying to understand some parts of the staff's doings, but one's most difficult obstacle is to realize they need to stop at some point. It's ok to make some questions, but as I've told you in the past, some people get annoyed of them, and you should have realized this by now. Sorry for such comparison, but I feel the need to say that you look a lot like a child constantly asking questions to their parents. If your parents ever got so annoyed because of them you should understand that this place isn't different. To this day, I think you've made half a hundred of questions, or maybe even more. Yet, are you so surprised that people get annoyed by them?

The Parents realize its their duty to inform their children of what's going on in the world. And do it for the sake of knowledge and learning. They don't stop because it annoys them, how selfish is that? So please don't compare the staff to parents that actually love and care for you. The staffs are everyday people parent or not we Arnt their children and if we annoy them it's bye bye to us and goodbye to bad english speakers because if you wanted to stay here and enjoy your time then too bad, get lost, and GG.
You Arnt welcome foreign scum!

I'm not sure if that's how it works but in my opinion it seems right about it.
