First you need the will to have a good PC for cheap (usually for gaming)
Then you do some research
Then you decide to build your own

Either that or be a money-waster and buy a ridiculously overpriced alienware (pls dont)
???
profit

I've never even came close to running out of space with 500GB. My computer has ~300GB and it's around half used. I really don't understand what all the extra space is for, especially when using Windows since storage above 1TB can start causing problems.

The thing is, most PC builders are gamers, and 500GB can't hold all the games they want + OS + whatever else. Honestly, I don't have this concern since I don't game much, but I do have a spare 1TB drive sitting in my machine in case my 120GB SSD ever starts to run down
Oh yeah, and the jump from 500GB to 1TB is like 5 dollars
500gb drives are overprice

RAM: Chieftec 8GB @ 1600 MHz DDR3 (1x8GB)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760, 2GB GDDR5
HDD: WD Green, 2TB
External HDD: Seagate, 1TB
Case: Cooler Master K350
PSU: FSP 500W (80+)
WiFi: TP Link N900 Dual Band PCIe a/b/g/n
