Hey! So it's been quite a while since we made any sort of update on this thread! Firstly, I'd like to announce that the first two worlds are nearing completion as far as levels are concerned! I still have to tweak some graphics on some of them here and there, but so far, we've made some great progress.
First things first! We've made some new levels and touched up some older ones!
First off is
Subterrane Stronghold (Formerly Mole King's Underground Fort): We made some drastic changes to the level. First, we completely reworked the second section which was originally kind of pointless. Second, we made a complete graphical overhaul to it though the background remains the same as of now and will change eventually. Third, we completely reworked the boss, so needless to say that this will by no means be the same boss that you have already faced before in my released version of that level.
I will not showcase the boss since I prefer to leave that in your imaginations as of now, but here is some progress on the level itself. I might make a couple more adjustments since some parts could definitely still be improved, but this is what we have so far:
Finally, the last update is
2-4 Cheesy Desert: Spikes dwell in this area because of the excessive amounts of cheese. Despite having as many resources as they do, they're very greedy and refuse to share with outsiders, especially plumbers with red hats. This level is a work in progress, though it is nearing completion. Background is a placeholder at the moment and will be completely different eventually.
As far as level design is concerned, we have basically all of the levels done for worlds 1 and 2, we just need to include cutscenes, finish up some bosses, make some more sprites for the story and whatnot. We have other plans and features we want to include, so those will have to be implemented as well. We're making good progress and will hopefully have a demo out relatively soon. I don't know when exactly it will happen, but it will definitely happen. There's a lot more that we've done that hasn't been shown in this update, but I'd rather not divulge all the information until the demo is released and people can play it for themselves.
