The idea of probation is to be spared from the punishment under conditions (which is the equivalent of a final warning), not to be given less of a punishment.

Definition of Probation (from wikipedia):
"Probation in criminal law is a period of supervision over an offender, ordered by the court instead of serving time in prison. In some jurisdictions, the term probation applies only to community sentences, such as suspended sentences."

I believe a probation isn't such a bad idea, but wouldn't it make sense to closely monitor a user's actions instead of limiting them? You know, just like an actual probation, they'd be supervised by a probation officer.
