Glcelebi wrote:Hi, sorry for the late reply but i had a similar problem and came across yours while searching for a solution but eventually found one myself. In my case, my save file was not showing and sometimes my world and level files too when i looked in my "episode folder". To make the files appear, i noticed an option that appeared above my folder when i viewed it which said 'Compatibility files". Clicking this had made the files appear. Hope you see my reply
What do you mean by this? I have the same problem and there is no "Compatibility files" option.
Please help.

In case anyone else runs into this problem, here's what I figured out. Sometimes SMBX will not create .sav's in a world folder. Instead it will be saved as a "Compatibility File", which can be accessed in "%LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SMBX\worlds". I noticed that the 2 worlds that come pre-installed (The Invasion 2 and Princess Cliche) will save data in this location rather than their world folders.
So if you don't see the .sav's in the world folder, it's probably in your appdata.

I always thought that you can just go into the level editor, open a level from your world, and click the "Test Level" dropdown, then click "Reset Game". I don't know what that does, though. Because It didn't reset the game save files.

That just resets a single level within the editor and is used to clear checkpoints, reset stars, etc. The user's question was asking about deleting .sav files from episodes.
And why in the world would you ever bump a topic that's a year and a half old?! The user probably isn't around anymore. You should have just created your own topic.

The SMBX editor uses a special, fourth save slot which is lost after closing it and doesn't carry stuff like lives between levels. Resetting that, like Pixel said, will get rid of your saved midpoint and stars (e.g. reset save file 0)

So what you did now was literally copying the question and not even have an answer bc you don't know why it happens.
Logic.

You should delete the saves (e.g. *.sav1, *.sav2).
Note: .sav1 and .sav2 are extensions
