This is not our fault usually? They just don't come back because they're in fact not excited enough about the level designer to fully commit to a project and to contribute to the other parts of the community and to become an active user overall. There are people who will well-intentionedly evaluate your work, and in nearly all cases the criticism is fine. From my knowledge there's been barely cases where a genuinely committed user was turned away by awful or hostile criticism.

You seems to misunderstand what I mean! The problem is not that it's "your fault", I not even pointing accusating anyone. Just saying that some people can find hard and stressful to hear all that criticisme for the first time, like me when I was a new user.

You are very mean

You will be banned from playing my episode and like i said i have not yet added custom graphics then it will be better
No he isn't, and you cannot force anyone to not play your episode unless you don't publicly release it, which would ultimately mean no one can play it.

Umm... How was he being mean at all? For the last time, we're not being mean to you, we're trying to let you know what you could improve on so you can become a better designer. Also, as King of Eternity said, how are you going to ban us from playing your episode? Also, custom GFX doesn't automatically make a project better.
Also, about the screenshots, they look really bland and spammy, and the 3rd screen literally has nothing in it. I know it's your design and style, but that doesn't mean you can't improve on it.

I always wondered why old users are usually very mean to new users, I mean of course we need to handle a critic but being mean with someone just because of how he works, makes new users leave to never come back. (Of course I don't refer to every old users, I know some of them aren't like that)

There is a difference between being mean and constructive criticism.

I was wondering when somebody would finally point this out, I've always wondered why that is sometimes true.
As for the episode itself, it's pretty decent enough for your very first one, and at least it doesn't have complete enemy spam like other episodes do.

Maybe you should take a break from all of this by doing something else and just ignore the people who are annoying you?

We are really getting off topic, but before closing this discussion, I agree, it can be really stressful for new users to get all that criticisme one shot. The thing is then, old users are trying to help to improve the episode, even if, some can be means.

What kind of graphics are you needing? What you want may be in the SMBX CGFX Cloud.

I mean his levels are pretty strange. The Extra block are too close at the ground and he added too many Goombas.

Jesus Christ no need to be so harsh towards him. But I have to agree the episode needs alot of improvements. There is alot of enemy and item abuse and barely no BGO placement. Some of the levels are too linear and dull. I have nothing against anyone who uses vanilla graphics there whole episode. But that's what makes this episode unique because you rarely see episodes like this good job. But there is alot of clash in it. Like mixing smb3 with smw. They do not mix at all unless done right. And work on the coin placement. I hope you improve at your skills at level making.

in what universe is this an appropriate response to anyone starting out with something? i'm not surprised he's been gone since april cause everyone here was just incredibly hostile towards him. half the "advice" in this thread is completely arbitrary and superficial as well. i thought people in this community were nicer than me, but i guess i was wrong.

yes there's been cases where the community has been trolly and uncivil in an unwarranted way. But where is the hostility here, especially
before the dude went immature and bullishly proclaimed "it's my art", like a 3-year-old would say "scribbling is my art"? Also I'm sure he would have left quickly no matter what, as many newcomers automatically do.
