I disagree. Enemies should stand out from their environment unless there is a good reason for them to blend in, like a gimmick.

Maybe, but the problem is not the environnement, but the game artwork (in this case, smw in smb3, even if, I admit, I don't really care). Also, a gimmick cannot be applied to something too simple like an ennemie.

What I meant to say is that SMB3 and SMW do fit in this case.
